The property is as in the photos, very spacious in the inside. Right on the water, only a minute or two from downtown Ely, but worlds away from the City. Nice setting, plenty of room for all in your group. Multiple levels, built to enjoy being on the lake, so many nice touches, and the kitchen is well stocked, with plenty of glasses/plates and everything required to feel at home. Plenty of towels! Hot tub is in a private setting! Second floor is reached by open stairway, includes an open area overlooking first floor, that includes conversation area with futon, and large bedroom with great view of sunrise and attached bathroom with shower and large jetted tub. We were just two, and felt comfortably together, larger groups will not feel crowded, and two cars can park in the garage, and they provide two remote garage door openers, so you do not have to get out of your car to open or close the garage door. Truly is like having your own place in the woods, if you were a millionaire!

Margo was a fabulous host and the cabin is absolutely gorgeous! Rustic soundings with a well equipped cabin full of small touches that show what a thoughtful host we had. We went snowshoeing, bird watched, enjoyed the dvd and book collection, cooked great meals in the excellent kitchen, read by the fire, and relaxed in the jet tub. Margo also made our dog Roderick feel equally welcome with a dog bed and bowls and easy covers for the furniture so he could sit with us. We cannot recommend Margo and her cabin highly enough!

We had a great time in Ely! This cabin was the perfect fall weekend getaway. Can’t wait to come back :)

We had a wonderful time swimming, fishing off the dock (caught a nice sized large mouth bass & panfish) and boating. We enjoyed the paddle board, kayak and screened in porch. We used the fire pit one night before the mosquitoes came out. We didn’t use the hot tub. We rented a pontoon from Brett at Island View Resort. He also sold bait, gas and a map of the lake with tips for fishing the lake. We caught crappies, bass, panfish and northern. The bunkhouse was prefect for our two boys. Our daughter enjoyed the loft room. It was nice that there were 2 fans. The kitchen was well equipped and we liked having a large electric skillet. Didn’t use the washing machine except for washing the towels before we checked out. The beds were comfortable. We also liked the large dining room table -used it to play games in the evening. We’d definitely recommend getting peanut butter twists from Pattens restaurant in Orr. It was a very relaxing vacation. We’d definitely rent it again.

It was a nice peaceful place, except the in floor heater on other side of wall I believe was a little noisy throughout the night. It sounded like a washing machine or water softener when it regenerates. I’m a light sleeper so that bothered me. As you can see the bed is tall. I’m 5-1 and it was ok getting in and out but if you’re short and have mobile issues it might be a problem. Otherwise it was a nice peaceful place! I liked it.

This was the perfect home for my 3 sons and myself as we had an event in Hibbing. Gary and Jill were excellent hosts, easy communication along with clear instructions. The cabin is clean and comfortable. We intend to be back next year at the same time.

It was a very beautiful place exactly what was pictured. It gives you the experience of Ely and being close to the boundary waters. It's a place you could call home Away from home.

This resort and cabin are beautiful. Everything inside was just right for what we needed. The views are amazing. Wish we could visit here frequently. We did hear loons which is one thing we hoped to do. We also saw bears outside the sanctuary down the road. We celebrated a young boy catch a large fish off the dock.

Was really great, we spent a couple days there. A beautiful spot to just get away and relax.
