Renta de bed and breakfasts vacacionales en Khamlia

We had a nice stay at Abdoul's home - a clean, nice and comfortable place. Thanks to Ahmed who picked us up at and gave us a lift to the bus station, which made our check-in/out much easier. They also arranged us new year eve camel rides and a camping night in desert which was a lifetime memory for us. We'd like to recommend Abdoul's home to you.

Dans cette auberge familiale, située au pied des dunes et à 10 minutes à pied de Merzouga, on fait vraiment l’expérience, tout en ayant son intimité si on le souhaite, de vivre avec ses hôtes. Omar et les siens sont avenants et chaleureux, et on se sent rapidement comme chez soi, à tel point que c'est le coeur un peu gros qu'on en repart! Merci encore à toi Omar pour cette superbe nuit dans le désert, à la belle étoile, et ces folles balades en 4/4: une expérience unique et inoubliable! J'ai déjà hâte de revenir!

Nous recommandons vivement ce gîte empreint d'authenticité. Nous sommes toujours à la recherche de lieux hors des masses de touristes et franchement, nous avons bien été servis. Et que dire de l'accueil, de la gentillesse et du sourire de Mohamed qui a comme intention de vous offrir la meilleure expérience possible. Nous avons aussi été en escapade dans le désert avec un guide et deux dromadaires. Nous nous sommes rendu en plein milieu des dunes, à plus de 2 h de randonnée à dos de dromadaires, pour y luncher dans une palmeraie blottie au pied des dunes géantes. Nous avons eu droit à un réel festin cuisiné sur place par Mohamed, un mi-trentenaire, ami de Mohamed du gîte, ancien nomade, qui connait le désert comme nul autre! Nous sommes revenus à la tombée du jour, toujours à dos de dromadaires, pour le repas du soir (un délice!) dans le désert et y passer la nuit en tente berbère. Ouahh! Les étoiles! Bref, un séjour sincère, immersif et touchant.

Myself and my two fellow travelers are full-time “digital nomads” who need wi-fi to work and a place to call home in new locations. Khamlia was PERFECT for just that. Firstly we were amazed at the quality of the internet, considering we were located on the edge of the Sahara Desert. The common room was large and comfortable enough to work on a table or slouched on a sofa between rounds of Moroccan tea. Secondly, the location - WOW! You step out of the bed and breakfast and instantly see the Sahara and more. Not to mention the music culture that surrounds the area. Last but certainly not least, I have to thank the people we met in Khamlia. The place is a hub of the community. From star-gazing, to drum playing, camping in the dunes, dancing by the fire, watching sunset on the terrace, playing with the kids and trying the local cuisine, we felt immersed in the Moroccan culture during our stay. The staff always made sure we were okay and catered for, and the people of Khamlia kept us smiling and laughing. Thank you, thank you, thank you everybody. We wish we could of extended our stay again and again and again.

Suzie and Abdul could not have been more attentive and welcoming hosts. Their warmth and enthusiasm to introduce you to their home, khamllia vilage, a way of life in the desert and the gnaoa musicians famous in the village goes far and beyond expectations. Know you're in for exceptional hospitality. The hotel itself is built in keeping with the village, while the inside is comfortable, clean and spacious. The breakfasts and dinners are generous and delicious. Suzie and Abdul are more than happy to organise trips to the desert, bike rides and market visits, all of which Id recommend!

We decided to stay a night in Erg Chebbi desert, as it is a must-see in Morocco, and chose Desert Queen for our stay there (camel tour, dinner and breakfast included). It is good to know that since the law changed a few months ago, all the camps are at the border of the desert, in its first dunes, which make the experience different from what we expected. The large orange sand dunes are really impressive, as they appear while you come from Erfoud, much bigger than what we imagined. Once there, we were taken for a camel ride on the dunes, to take some pictures, and back at the camp (the man leading the camel expects you to buy some berber souvernir mid-way to that camel ride). Our hosts were very caring and welcoming, and the dinner they cooked was delicious (we had the vegetarian and chicken tajines). We were pleasantly surprised to see a fully functionnal bathroom (shower and toilets) in our tent, which was good to refresh yourself under 47 degrees (mid-August). After the dinner, we went to a nearby camp to listen and play some berber music, which was nice and relaxing, to finally sleep outside of the tent, as it is much fresher, at least in August :) We woke up around 6am to see the sunset, and walk in the desert, which is really relaxing, to finally make our way back to Erfoud after the breakfast. the place is near to the desert. shared bathroom and toilet is clean. Good communal space to chill. Tea was served when reached. The host was friendly and not pushy. he got us a reasonably priced quad ATV sunset tour, and it was an awesome experience. The dinner was lovely.
