Beautiful location and an enjoyable quiet night in a cabin! Didn’t have too much time to explore or interact w animals or hosts. But we found this to be a good place to get a peaceful sleep for a night.

This Airnbn was absolutely fantastic! Chavonne and Don were amazing hosts. It was treat to meet them in person, too. We've never been in such a well stocked Airbnb. The place was spotless and we felt right at home. We're so glad we found Chavonne and Don because we have family in the area and now we have a perfect place to stay when we visit.

Easy to find after a long day’s travel, arriving after dark. The unit worked perfectly for my two week work assignment, located close main roads but also walkable to downtown and nearby cute neighborhoods for walking. The bed was comfortable and there are two AC units for hot weather and ceiling fans. Lots of old cute built/in cabinetry. Easy parking out front. Would definitely stay again.

This is my second stay here I enjoyed it very much. Her place is very clean and well organized.

We just needed a place to close our eyes, as we were too tired to finish the drive home. It was more than I wanted to pay, but it was comparable to other listings in the area with similar accommodations. We had a relaxing morning drinking coffee, with great conversation, while Tammy made us breakfast (for a small extra charge). The home is clean, comfortable, full of love, and we look forward to future stays if ever we are lucky enough to be in the area again. While the listing does mention a dog in the home, it doesn’t mention she’s famous….inside, you’ll be able to pick up a children’s book with beautiful illustrations and some of Sophie’s adventures. Thank you Tyler for being an amazing host! I enjoyed staying in your beautiful home. I loved that there was a ping pong / pool table. The house was nice & clean + very spacious. I had no issues durning my stay and there are so many stores + restaurants nearby which was convenient.

This is a great off-grid location in the mountains of Tehachapi. The temp is at least 10 degrees cooler than at lower elevations. If you are high maintenance, this is not the place for you. Think of this as a place to chill and relax and/or as a central rooting spot for your outdoor adventures! Tom and Kristen are great hosts and very responsive. The house is rustic and there is a chance the power could go off in the middle of the night as it is run by both solar and generator although Tom is great about getting it up and running again if it goes out. The road to get to the house is twisty and unpaved as you get higher up the mountain. I def recommend 4WD but FWD will get you there if no snow! The inside is clean and there are great books upstairs on the wall to wall bookcase. There is a nice deck with beautiful views. The area is heavily forested but sunset and moonrise can be seen from the deck - sometimes at the same time. There is great hiking both around the house and if you drive to Tehachapi Mountain State Park, a great 2.5 mile hike to the top with incredible views. The house is dog friendly and also gets visits from local dogs especially gigantic but super sweet Alaskan Malamute dogs Ghost and Koda. They were fascinated with my little dogs and desperately wanted to play with them. They also accompanied me on hikes/walks on the unpaved roads. If you walk up Grimsel, there are incredible views and walking with 2 huge dogs at sunset made me feel safe from any possible bears or mountain lions - not that I saw any but you’re in the mountains so a possibility! Besides Tom and Kristen, I want to say that everyone I met in town were the nicest people. And if you want a great bakery, then a trip to Kohnens Country Bakery is not to be missed. Also Carlos’Donuts and the Burrito and Coffee stand next to Carlos’! The burritos are HUGE and can easily be split. Wildrose has the cheapest gas by more than $1 anywhere else in town. So upshot, if you’re an outdoor person or just looking to unplug (I had almost no cell reception - 1 bar or 2 on the deck!) this is the place to go. I did a lot of driving around both on the mountain and in the flats just exploring. I’m sure in the fall and winter that it’s beautiful, and I am looking forward to coming back!

Rene's place was *perfect* for our visit to family at Edwards AFB - SO close and convenient! Everything was clean and easy to find - plenty of linens, etc. Rene always responded to questions quickly, which was appreciated. We felt very comfortable in the space and would definitely stay there on a future visit!
