We stayed here for 2 nights in our South Island road trip hoping to see whales. Sadly we didn’t see any this time. We had torrential rain and it was cold. But… we loved the town and this cute period villa. House was cosy warm and comfortable. We had a fab dinner at The Whaler and even better at the Pier. We had wanted to go to Nins bins but was too wet. Highlights were the shops, the coffee (excellent coffee right next door!) and the Kent fireplace inside the lounge. Thank you!!

Absolutely wonderful! Beautiful location in walking distance to a lovely trail! Very nice accommodation! Raylene was so very kind!!!! She was wonderful with communicating and very accommodating when we accidentally left something behind and went back to retrieve it. Would stay here again in a heartbeat! Thank you Raylene!!!!

A great location to stay - lots of interest from watching the boats come in and out of the harbour and comfortable facilities

A spacious, clean house. The bed was very comfortable.

Layout of the home is a little unique, but the view is what makes this gem special! Had so much fun seeing an Orka offshore and some penguins on a rollercoaster ride. Thanks to the host for providing binoculars!

Great house, beautiful garden and view out to the ranges is fantastic. Location excellent for us, nice and quiet, still close to town, also close to the surf if that's your thing. Lots of banana passionfruit to pick. Would love to go and stay again when we're not working!

Such a lovely stay! Location was perfect and walk along the beach was beautiful. Short drive into the town centre which had great food selection. Accommodation was modern and clean. Comfy bed and just a great vibe overall.

Beautiful secluded space with lots of personality. We had the bad luck of being there during torrential rainfall so we weren't able to take advantage of the lovely outdoor surrounds, but nevertheless we stayed cosy inside riding out the weather. Tessa and Korey were very friendly and easy to communicate with.

Fiona was so welcoming and friendly. The apartment is absolutely gorgeous - just as in the photos. A really special and beautiful home in the most amazing location - literally across the road from the beach. The apartment was filled with welcoming and thoughtful gestures including Easter eggs and hot cross buns, as well as fruit, milk and bread (on top of a well-stocked pantry). Would highly recommend and would love to return.

We loved staying here. Sean and Skip have done a wonderful job restoring the factory to make it super comfortable, including under floor heating and indoor fire for cold wintery days. It's just across the road from the beach and we opened the windows at night and the sound of the waves lulled us to sleep. Sean took time with us on arrival to show us all the things about the house and was super responsive to a query we had after that. We loved the outdoor fire pit (and the super sized marshmallows for toasting!) and sitting in the spa looking at the stars was beautiful. We didn't realise that there are two parts to the factory and that they can be joined together for a larger group, but appreciate that Sean and Skip only ever book one side (or it as a whole) at a time so you aren't sharing it with strangers. Would highly recommend and definitely stay again.

Nice enough and plenty of space - but considerably more expensive than other airbnbs on our South Island trip.

This little gem was in a great location, close to the beach and walking distance into town, coffee shops and restaurants. It was peaceful, being down a little driveway and overlooking a beautiful garden, but you can still hear the ocean. The place was neat, clean, warm and perfect for the two of us. We met Kevin who was informative, friendly and welcoming. It was perfect for a weekend away for some relaxing and exploring the area. Hope to be back soon…we did not want to leave!
