This house was a phenomenal stay for my wedding weekend. I love old southern houses and this place blew me away. Katie was very accommodating and responsive.

Susanne is a caring & friendly hostess. So happy we lucked into this special place, thankful there was a cancellation. It was perfect for our group as was the location. No detail was left undone from the well appointed kitchen to the comfortable beds. Tranquil. Felt like home. Looking forward to returning.

We enjoyed our stay at the farm with our three young children. They especially enjoyed seeing the animals around the farm. There were plenty of beds for everyone and lots of room to run around outside. Our gps took us right to the house despite not having internet. The only thing I would recommend is to head Adam’s warning when he says that the route Google often takes you through The George Washington National Forest can be treacherous. It would have been a lot less stressful of a drive if we had taken one of the other two recommended routes. Overall we had a pleasant stay and found the owners very friendly. We would stay again if in the area.

This place is absolutely stunning! Way better than the pictures. The views outside were amazing and the beautiful sound of horses in the background were so sweet! This place was perfectly located too! Spent the day in Stanton and another day in Lexington and everywhere in between including a beautiful drive over to Polyface Farm! Highly recommend!

Our family had the best time here! Loved the yurt! There is a creek across the street that the children played in, we fished in the pond, played baseball in the meadow, had a campfire under the stars. The beds were super comfortable, we enjoyed the privacy and the beauty of the area. We hope to go back and stay longer next time! Well appointed kitchen, super clean home, responsive host, beautiful views through the many windows, private stay yet close to activities. It’s a gem, for sure!

Gail was commutative and helpful! The cabin barn was beautifully decorated, quaint, and cozy. The outhouse was clean and a short walk from the cabin. We didn’t use the shower or bath tub but they looked lovely. The heated mattress covers kept us warm at night. Overall a beautiful and convenient place to stay!

We had a wonderful time at the cottage. Elise and Preston were incredibly hosts, and the cottage was full of thoughtful amenities and is beautifully designed. The area is gorgeous with plenty to do while still being in the peace and quiet. Our daughter had a blast with the farm animals, running around the large oak tree and playing in the loft. It was perfect for our little family - we'll definitely be back!

Our family enjoyed our time at Patti’s place. The place is comfortable and easy to navigate. The outdoor seating areas are relaxing and great for star gazing.

Our stay was wonderful! The quaint tiny home was quiet and secluded for me and my wife. The outdoor furniture and tables made for scenic views while we ate our meals and drank our morning coffee. Overall, it was a perfect getaway!

We are absolutely OBSESSED with this place. The silo was everything we imagined and more. The farm animals are literally a few feet away from the front door and gave us a warm welcome as soon as we arrived. From riding several miles of bike trails to fishing and boating in the pond, there was never a bored moment. The owners Ashleigh and Mike were super nice and made us feel right at home. This was definitely one of our top spots we’ve stayed at and can’t wait to return in the future!

We had a wedding to go to in Louisa, VA and we were so happy with how close Apryl’s place was to cute coffee shops, downtown Gordonsville, winery’s and Charlottesville. It was in the perfect location for us. Apryl was fast in her responses which I appreciated and was quick to help us when our key code had run out, she fixed it in minutes so we were back in the cozy studio asap. It was fun to wake up in the morning and see chickens running around and hearing the stirring of the farm first thing in the morning. Don’t worry though if listening to the rooster crow in the morning isn’t your thing there is a sound machine in the room which was an added bonus. It is a spacious place for a few nights, just remember it is a working farm so Apryl’s children and others will be out and about during the day. But they were so kind but not overbearing either. I will be recommending Apryl’s place to anyone looking for a place that’s close to everything but peaceful.

We had such a great time with the animals! Tim even let my son bottle feed one of the baby goats! The location was beautiful and easy to get to, super clean, quiet, and peaceful. They have good insulation in the rooms - I didn't even hear the roosters in the morning! Definitely recommended!

Lovely weekend! We will come again. The home was perfect for the two of us and our Spinone. We enjoyed the view, the sheep, horse, dogs, walking around the property. Our host was so gracious with suggestions, flexibility, and access to her property. Just a perfect relaxing weekend.

Staying at Steven’s cottage felt like stepping into a little hidden world—quiet, peaceful, and full of character. There’s something about the land that immediately makes you slow down and breathe a little deeper. The cottage itself is rich with history but also incredibly cozy and thoughtfully set up for comfort. We spent mornings (& evenings) by the lake, listening to the wind move through the trees, and eventually ended each night under the stars in the hot tub. We kept saying how there was no need to go anywhere—though everything is nearby, we didn’t want to leave. Everything we needed to relax was right there. We were outside hiking trails, swaying in hammocks, soaking up the views, and enjoying the fire pits. The axe throwing game was such a fun surprise, and inside, the glow of the gas fireplace made everything feel extra cozy. Steven is a great host—& takes pride in his beautiful piece of land. More than a stay—it’s a full experience, and one we won’t forget anytime soon.

Our stay with Steve and Debbie was absolutely amazing! Their home was charming, spacious, and perfect for our girls' trip of four. We had more than enough room to relax and unwind, and there was plenty of parking, which made everything so easy. One of our favorite parts was sitting outside on the lawn chairs, soaking in the beautiful scenery — it was so peaceful and refreshing. Lots of great spots to head to all 30min and under. Pippin Hill was only 10min away! Everything about the stay was wonderful, with no complaints at all. We are already talking about when we can come back. Thank you, Steve and Debbie, for such a memorable and relaxing getaway! --- Would you like one that's a little even more bubbly too, just in case?

This was such a beautiful home. The views were stunning, so quiet and peaceful. House was very clean, huge kitchen and dining space, with a cozy fire place. It's a little off the beaten path, but worth the drive! Culin was a great host, super responsive and had great recommendations for activities and food! All in all it was a great trip!!

Loved our stay, went there for a writers retreat and it was perfect, well appointed, clean and inviting. As a bonus in the later afternoon, with bikes provided at the cottage, we had a very nice afternoon ride, there were plenty of quiet roads to travel and their multi-use meadow is fantastic. Gita was very responsive to any questions and cordial. I will definitely return, look forward to it.

No words! We absolutely loved this place! Totally private. It is above their detached two car garage and so perfect. Absolutely immaculate. I appreciated that she was fine with us checking in at 10:30pm and we left each morning at 7am. Perfect location to hit Richmond, Yorktown, Jamestown and Williamsburg in the one day/two nights that we had. The steep stairs to climb up above the garage were well worth the privacy. I am very hopeful that we can come back and stay again someday for 4-5 nights to do this area with more time. She was so friendly to message with. We loved watching them waking up their farm while we sipped our provided keurig cups.

We loved our stay with Phillip and Georgia! They were responsive and friendly and could often be found outside on their grounds! They would always say hi and ask how things were going. If I needed anything all I had to do was send a text and Georgia was incredibly responsive. Best of all…this was the PERFECT play for my 3 year old. They had a play ground and a jungle gym that he just had a blast on. Additionally, they had chickens, ducks, goats, cats, and dogs to see and play with and observe. We even got to feed their goats! We felt right at home and we would 100% stay again.

A genuine farmhouse in the valley that comfortably fits a large family. Nice front porch view and proximity to various parts of the Shenandoah area. Only downside is not having a large trash can on the immediate property and what felt like a long checkout to-do list.

Such a great place and perfect for our needs. Has plenty of things provided such as blankets, fans etc. always clean, and so peaceful! We love the decor and seeing the cows in the morning! Thanks for everything! ❤️

We had such a wonderful stay at this beautiful home! The views of the mountains were absolutely stunning and made every morning feel magical. We loved watching the wild turkeys, deer, and rabbits roam freely through the open, rolling hay fields—it was like stepping into a nature documentary. So peaceful and relaxing. The home itself was incredibly clean, spacious, and comfortable—perfect for our family. The kitchen was well-stocked with everything we needed, and the bathrooms had plenty of fresh linens. Everything was thoughtfully prepared for guests. One of our favorite moments was sitting by the fire pit in the evenings, listening to the call of the whippoorwills and stargazing under the clear sky. Truly an unforgettable experience. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking to unwind in a serene, natural setting!
