Thanks so much Jessica for hosting us on our first stop on (our version of) the NC500. We had such a wonderful time in your little oasis outside Cromarty. Perfect location for exploring the Black Isle and everything it has to offer. We were very lucky with the weather and to see dolphins almost on cue at nearby Chanonry Point. The nearby Fairy Glen falls were gorgeous and thanks for the recommendation of Big Burn Walk in Golspie, that was stunning! By far our best memories are sitting in the hot tub watching the deer in the fields, the sun go down, and bats soaring above our heads. Spectacular. Thanks so much for everything!! :)

Very modern, decorated lovely! Super clean and just felt right at home. Such a beautiful location and super easy to find. Hot tub was great and didn’t take long to heat up. Would absolutely recommend thank you!

Really enjoyed my short stay here. Host was more than attentive to our needs. I would 100% stay again. The views were unmatched, beautiful, peaceful, and exactly what was needed. Very close to all the activities we wanted to do in the area as well so it was a perfect stay. I wasn’t a massive fan of the electric cooker but I have gas at home and am used to that so probably just me not fault of the host or the property. All in all 5 star 10/10.

Die Lage ist sehr schön, abgelegen, mit Schaf- und Kuhweiden. Die Tomatin Destillerie ist sehr nahe und sehr zu empfehlen! Auch Inverness ist sehr nahe und für den Einkauf ist Aviemore sehr zu empfehlen, hat dort einen Lidl und mehr. (waren mit dem Mietauto unterwegs) Einziger Punkt: die Küche ist recht einfach ausgestattet, wir hatten daher in Aviemore noch ein-zwei Küchenutensilien dazugekauft. Bei Fragen und Themen standen James und Kitty immer zur Verfügung und eine Antwort kam schnell zurück. Zur Information: es befinden sich zwei Lodges nebeneinander, die jeweils auch an Familien mit kleinen Kinder vermietet werden. Wer mit seinem Partner alleine Zweisamkeit sucht, muss daher berücksichtigen, dass auch Kinderlärm vorhanden sein kann.

A return visit for us, another beautiful peaceful break from our busy lives. Would recommend the Juniper hut to everyone. Cosy cabin with everything you could need,with so much to see only a short drive away.

Just back from a 3 night stay here. Lovely property and comes with a suana and hot tub, couldnt have asked for anymore. Such a relaxinf long weekend.

Wild Thistle Lodge absolutely blew us away! From the moment we arrived, we knew we had found something truly special. The location is out of this world — the views are simply breathtaking, like something from a postcard. Every corner of the lodge was immaculate, cozy, and clearly designed with so much love and attention to detail. Jane, our host, went above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable. She had a full folder waiting for us with recommendations for local restaurants, activities, and even directions to everything — it made exploring the area so easy and stress-free. It’s rare to find a place where you feel completely at home the minute you walk in, but Wild Thistle Lodge was exactly that. The peaceful surroundings, the stunning views, the thoughtful touches throughout the lodge — it all came together to create one of the best stays we have ever had. We are already planning our next trip back. If you’re considering booking Wild Thistle Lodge — don’t hesitate for a second.

A lovely and cosy lodge with great amenities such as the hot tub. Gail was fantastic host from start to finish. We will definitely come back.

We were here as my husband was taking part in the Loch Ness Etape, 66 mile cycle around the Loch. It was the perfect place to stay, so peaceful. The lodge exceeded our expectations, the photos really don’t do it justice. The extra little touches were much appreciated, the eggs were fantastic thank you Antonia. Will definitely recommend to friends and we hope to visit again

Absolutely lovely place that we didn't want to leave! Very quaint location away from everything. We were surrounded by farm animals, was lovely seeing chickens, rooster and even a peacock running around! The cabin turned out to be more spacious than the photos made it look. It was clean and well stocked with necessities. The highlight was definitely seeing the Aurora on our first night there! Would recommend to anyone who wants a peaceful getaway, 6/5 stars!

Just back from our family Easter weekend stay. The lodge couldn’t have been better, absolutely gorgeous, clean and had absolutely everything in it you can think of for a weekend away! Lorna was so helpful too. We will be back to stay again it was perfect

Idyllic wee haven in outskirts of Aviemore. The two of us stayed for 3 nights with our two little dogs. Drove daily into Aviemore and surrounding areas to explore but was lovely to return to the little cabin. It has everything you need & its rural setting is so peaceful allowing you to escape the everyday hustle and bustle back home, you truly feel at the heart of the Cairngorms. We booked to stay early April and we’re very lucky with the weather, however the cabin would be lovely to stay during any season. We have just returned home, missing it already - & the views!! Would definitely recommend & will definitely return. Host’s Elizabeth & David are lovely too - what a gem of a place they have!

The Boathouse is very cosy , clean and welcoming. It’s tucked away but within easy walking distance of the beach and local pubs. Wonderful deli/ coffee shop 5 mins walk away. This was our 1st visit to Findhorn and we loved it , definitely one to return to. Our dog was made to feel very welcome and had a great time on the beach. Lots to see and do round about.

Wir waren nach einer anstrengenden Anreise eine Nacht zur Entspannung hier und es war so wunderbar. Einchecken, genießen, schlafen, essen, Fernsehen, schlafen... Perfekt! Action gäbe es genug, die haben wir nur nicht gesucht!!! Alles wunderbar! Danke

Gillies Rest is a great stay and I would definitely recommend it if you are looking for a hike in the nearby area. Place is exactly as advertised, please make sure you check what is available and what are the limitations. Place was extremely clean, the beds were really comfy and the kitchen was very well equipped. Overall - it was great and hopefully we'll return someday.

This cozy cottage was warm, welcoming and extremely clean and modern. We were a family of four and didn't find it crowded. Mary was so kind and left us lots of treats, coffee and tea. Super appreciated! It was close to Culloden Battlefields and Inverness city, but far enough away from the bustle. We all slept well in the comfy beds and it was quiet at night. Thanks so much Mary!

We had the loveliest stay at Abhainn cabin! The place is gorgeous — we had pretty high hopes to begin with but the place by far surpassed our expectations. The cabin was incredibly cozy, well put together and the place itself was immaculate. The area is stunning, we were spoilt for choice when it came to hiking, highly recommended if you’re into the outdoors. Paul was a fantastic host, very communicative throughout and thanks to his instructions it was a breeze to find the place. Very very highly recommended — we will most definitely be back

A great place to stay! We spent 5 nights in the cabin and LOVED it! The surroundings are so beautiful and there's so many animals - deers, a goose, a highland cow, horses, and bunnies! The hosts were very helpful and responsive. There's a coin-operated laundry facility on site, as well as a pub open in the evenings. The cabin itself was comfortable and clean, though perhaps slightly dated in furnishings. Would stay again:)

If I could give this place 10/5 stars I would. We ADORED staying here and wish we could’ve stayed longer. SO peaceful, beautiful with the place very thoughtfully laid out and supplied with all you need. The hosts we INCREDIBLE. The location just a short 25 minutes away from Inverness which allows you to have your time trying around the area and return for some peace and quiet later in the evening. We were able to cook some dinner and relax while doing some laundry after a long days travel and touring. We would absolutely stay here again. These hosts went above and beyond!!!

Perfect location with stunning views. Peaceful place to unwind from the hustle of life. Felt very private. Great walks and the use of the hot tub to totally relax. Lots of extra thoughtful touches from Paula when we arrived, made the place feel extra special. Will definitely come back. Short drive to Inverness and we found a local pub that did great food only 8 minutes in the car.

Laura’s place was the perfect getaway. Beautiful location and beautiful place immersed in nature. The perfect place for anyone looking to disconnect from the busy world. Will be back!

Great little cabin which fulfilled all our needs, excellently appointed and pristinely clean. Great views front and back, the under floor heating meant we were always warm and cosy. The little extras left were very much appreciated, communication with Eilidh was always easy and responsive. We walked up to the swing bridge, then back along the canal to Laggan locks, where we had drinks and ate at The eagle floating barge which was good fun and some stunning views. Great base for trips to Skye, Fort William, Glencoe, Eilean Donan castle, Fort Augustus and Loch Ness. We will back
