Perfect cabin for a trip to Iceland! It was small but that's what we were expecting from the description, and the space was enough for our needs. The host was very quick to respond anytime we had a question. Would definitely recommend!

Wir haben uns auf Anhieb in der Unterkunft sehr wohl gefühlt. Es war alles sehr ordentlich und sauber. Die Umgebung ist ruhig. Wir waren 4 Erwachsene und 3 Kleinkinder. An Platz mangelt es nicht und auch für die Kinder ist alles sicher und gemütlich. Die Gastgeberin war sehr aufmerksam und hat uns alles bereit gestellt was man zur Versorgung braucht, auch der Check-In verlief einwandfrei. Katrinn hat uns genau über die Lage und den Ablauf informiert, trotz nächlicher Ankunft war sie und Asta gut erreichbar. Wir sind Katrinn unglaublich dankbar und würden die Unterkunft, wie auch sie als Gastgeberin immer wieder weiter empfehlen!

We had a great stay at this location. It is about 30 min from Reykjavik which was not a problem for us at all. It is located in a super quiet area literally right next to a lake. We are a family of 4, so we used all three bedrooms which as great for us. It is not a large cabin, but we spent so little time at the cabin that it did not bother us at all. We used the Hot tub in the back yard every day and enjoyed the view over the lake and mountains. It is close to a number of hiking trails and waterfalls, and it was exactly what we had hoped for. The host is AMAZING, by far the most responsive host we have ever had, and offered super good information for trips, shopping etc. We ended our trip by watching the Northern Lights right from our back yard patio. I would recommend this to anyone looking for nature, hikes and amazing views.

Sandra was a wonderful host! She was very responsive and always available to answer any questions we had. Her place was very clean and cozy. The views were excellent with a nice, private space. We would absolutely stay here again without any hesitation!

The barn house was beautifully built and decorated with spectacular views. The skylight windows were perfect for watching for the northern lights. The kitchen had all the basics and some extras like a nespresso machine and pods. We enjoyed cooking there and using the hot tub. The washer and dryer were super helpful. It was a great launching place for the Golden Circle. Stokkseyri is a cute little town with a great local pool. The turf house across the street was fun to explore as was the beach on the other side of the turf wall. It is very near Bakkahestar for highly recommended Icelandic horse rides with a local couple on the beach in Eyrarbakki. Nearby Selfoss has anything you need including an amazing fish market Fiskbud Suderlands for great prices on fresh caught local fish. Kristinn was very responsive and we loved our stay!

This was our first time in Iceland and I’m so glad we chose Helga’s beautiful cabin to stay. The surroundings are amazing and something we will never forget. The house had everything we needed to be comfortable for the week. It was cozy, quiet, and felt private even with cabins nearby. Off the beaten path but close to our first stop on the Golden Circle. We enjoyed the hot tub, very relaxing after a lot of driving and hiking. We weren’t sure we’d see the northern lights so late in the season but ended up seeing them our last two days - right from the cabin deck and living room windows. After such a great trip, I hope to return to Iceland someday soon!

Absolutely loved our stay. Hot tub and cozy cabin was wonderful after a long day of traveling. Only 15 minutes from Selfoss and accessible to the golden circle, the location was unbeatable if you want something unique to Iceland and convenient. Susanna was very welcoming and so were her dogs and the cat that came up to greet us! Would stay again/recommend to friends and family :)

One of the best places we stayed while in Iceland. We were able to walk to the private black sand beach to watch the sunset. So picturesque and beautiful. The yurt was very comfortable. The heated beds were perfect. Even caught a glimpse of the northern lights! Cannot recommend this place enough.

Our stay was perfect. The cabin was great and exactly as shown in the pictures. The place was clean and the kitchen was well stocked with appliances for a small kitchen. Eggert was quick to respond and check-in was easy and smooth. Great overall experience and would definitely recommend this place.

If you are looking for a comfortable, affordable stay in Reykjavik, this is the place for you. Great amenities including a large back yard, large living space with a Smart TV and playstation, and a fireplace. Kitchen with everything needed to cook for yourself and avoid the pricey Reykjavik Restaurant scene. Located on a quiet street with easy access to the highway (rental car recommended for sure).

Amazing place. We sat in the hottub at night with - 10 degrees while it was pitch black. A moment we will never forget. The place looked even better than on the pictures. We cooked at the place two nights, the oven is amazing and all the equipment is there. Linda responded very quick and was very nice. Thank you Linda!!

Our family of four (2 adults, 2 teens) stayed here for a week in April, 2025. We found the log cabin the perfect home base for our trip. We loved starting our day with coffee on the deck, admiring the views and birdwatching and ending it on the deck in the hot tub with the Aurora Borealis overhead. Downtown Selfoss is about 25 mins away and there are two grocery stores and a bunch of restaurants. Check out the food hall. It’s an adorable city!

We have enjoyed this place, very peaceful and perfectly situated to visit the Golden Circle sites. The housing is quite basic, but sufficient and very comfortable. We recommend this place.

We had a great time at the cabin! Actually, one of the highlights was our host Ylfa, who was always very helpful, provided a lot of very detailed information up front and reacted very quickly to all remaining questions we had - the communication was really a pleasure to us and on a level I have not experienced on Airbnb before. About the cabin: Our kids (3 and 6 years old) very much liked what they referred to as "the play cave", which is the upstairs sleeping loft. The kitchen is well equipped with all necessary things needed, far exceeding what would be minimal kitchen setup. Another highlight to us was the hot tub, which we used almost every day (despite wind and a bit of rain outside). The open view towards the west is very suitable to search for Northern Lights in the dark or just watch the stars. We mainly used the cabin as our homebase to different day tours around in western Iceland. In total, we really had a great time!

This was the perfect stay for our 2 families of 3. Beautiful home in a peaceful location. I cannot emphasize enough how fantastic Gunnsa and Oli were. They were so responsive and helpful with our stay, recommending a taxi driver and making inquiries for us related to activities we wanted to do. The check in and check out was SO flexible and easy- the hosts were just amazing our whole week, going above and beyond. I would highly recommend staying at this beautiful home in Iceland.

We spent a wonderful two days in Kristin's Selfoss home and had a great time! Kristin is extremely friendly and helpful, she responded to our every question quickly and with great information. The house's location is magical with a beautiful view of the river. It's very clean, close to attractions and conveniences, well stocked and had everything we needed. We especially appreciated the kitchen and washer/dryer. Our stay here and Kristin served as an excellent introduction to Iceland and we're very grateful for that! Stay here, you won't regret it!

Le logement était très confortable, accueillant, chaleureux. Il dispose du strict nécessaire pour passer un séjour agréable. Selfoss est une étape de notre voyage, mais nous y sommes restés 2 nuits car c'est très bien situé. Je vous conseille également la boulangerie qui est proche du logement. Nos hôtes étaient très réactifs, et très agréables.

We had a very great stay in Hafsteinns house and enjoyed the house and the surroundings very much. The house was well equipped with everything you need. We had a problem with the pool (the water pipe was frozen), but Hafsteinn reacted very quickly and send a plumber the next day to fix it. On the negative side, there is a bit of a lack of storage space for personal belongings and actually only one bedroom is an actually separated room, the other two "rooms" are open to the living area.

If you are looking to stay near the National Park and enjoy a private, incredibly quite relaxing trip, this is the most amazing choice. For us this home was the perfect space, incredible design, stunning views with impeccable lighting. We needed to rest and relax while exploring the vast landscape of Iceland and this was beyond perfect. We will absolutely be back.

Wunderschöne Hütte, mit viel Liebe zum Detail und gemütlich eingerichtet - es ist alles da, was man braucht und Sabine als Host super nett und proaktiv. Wir haben tolle Ausflugsziele und Restaurants empfohlen bekommen und auch den von Sabine angebotenen Ausritt sehr genossen! Die Ruhe , die Isländer direkt vor der Hütte, der tolle Ausblick und die Gemütlichkeit haben uns super gefallen und wir hatten wunderschöne 4 Nächte hier. Auf jeden Fall eine große Empfehlung von uns! Gern würden wir auch selbst wiederkommen!!!

We, My husband and our two adult children, enjoyed our stay in beautiful Iceland staying at Ernas place. The house is really clean and nice and it is fantastic to follow the daily chances of landscape from the livingroom room and the terrace. Erna and her sons helped us in connection with a few situations we could not resolve ourselves. Its er perfekt place because its located between the most worth-seeing attractions and you can easily plan your trips based on the weather forecast. The best recommendations Dorte and family
