Wir hatten eine so schöne Zeit in Haukurs Unterkunft. Die Hütte ist mit allem ausgestattet was man so braucht, sehr gemütlich und traumhaft ruhig gelegen mitten in der Natur. Der Blick auf den See, der Kamin und der Hot Tub waren unser Highlight. Perfekt um so richtig zu entspannen. Wir würden jederzeit wiederkommen.

Such a fabulous cabin in a stunning location. We enjoyed our stay immensely and wouldn’t hesitate to return. The hot tub was a bonus. We used it several times during our four nights stay. The cabin was spotlessly clean had every amenity to make us more than comfortable throughout our stay, the hosts were very friendly and extremely helpful. Such a wonderful place, we really didn’t want to leave. Make sure you stock up on groceries when you pass a supermarket (as the nearest one open during our stay was a 25 minute drive) and you won’t want for a thing. We forgot to purchase some sugar for our hot drinks, so Matthias, one of the hosts, called round within a couple of hours with a bag of sugar cubes for us. Amazing service! The horses in the adjoining field were a delight to watch and kept my daughter entertained for hours. Thank you for a fabulous stay!

Questo chalet è meraviglioso in tutti i sensi, una delle soluzioni più belle degli ultimi 10 con Airbnb! La casa è bella, semplice ma molto curata, con tutto quello che serve per cucinare e pranzare. I letti sono comodi e caldi. La vasca idromassaggio all’esterno è fantastica: quando siamo arrivati alle 10 pm era perfettamente calda (38*C). Grazie davvero Jon per voler condividere questo gioiello!

Tumi was extremely helpful the entire experience, offering more than what was even offered on the listing. We seriously appreciate all the effort that was made to make our last day in Iceland as easy and stress free as possible. If I had to say one thing, it is that the location of this rental is a bit confusing to get to. Offering slightly better instructions would be extremely helpful, but overall was a perfect distance from the airport and offered everything needed for an affordable stay - plus a hot tub!

We rented Sara’s place because of the beautiful setting and because we wanted true peace and relaxation and a place to come home each day. We got that and more. It was convenient to Reykjavík. But it also afforded us adventures in several of the surrounding regions – including the majestic Snaefellsnes. Honestly, though we might have never left and been happy still: the view was spectacular and ever-changing. And it was so very quiet. Smartly designed, it met all of our needs perfectly. We cooked delicious meals. Several hot soaks. And slept so comfortably. Would stay there again in a heartbeat.

We wanted to book a nice place for our final days in Iceland, somewhere comfortable and with nice views because we wanted to reduce the pace and rest after several days with lots of activity. I wouldn’t find a better place for that, we felt like home but better, the view is beautiful, the house is cozy and there is the hot tub to complete. The house has everything you need, a complete kitchen, separated bedrooms that were nice for us with two kids, a nice deck outside. And on top of that Jara and Einar are wonderful hosts. We would definitely stay there again.

Beautiful, cozy, and well-equipped, with stunning views and complete privacy. The location is perfect for a peaceful retreat, but in winter, a 4x4 is a must due to snowdrifts and challenging access. Despite that, everything about the stay was perfect, and we would highly recommend it!

Very attractive and comfortable cabin in a beautiful area which feels entirely private despite being only an hour from Reykjavik. Great base for hiking or sightseeing. We had five days here and felt we only scratched the surface of what the area has to offer. Cabin is very well and thoughtfully equipped. Matthias was a great host and offered fantastic recommendations of things to do and see. No hesitation at all in recommending.

Utrolig fantastisk hytte med skønne omgivelser! Man følte sig hjemme fra man trådte ind af døren. Klart et sted man skal bo på sin tur til Island!

Though both Google & Apple Maps tried to get us to enter the neighborhood the wrong way (Pay attention--there are two entrances, & you want the one with the blue sign a bit to the west.), everything was great once we got that sorted. The space is small but perfect for two people, and the location is amazing and quiet, yet close to nearby villages and places like Gullfoss and Geysir. At the cabin, the only real sounds are of nature--from the birds to the nearby waterfalls--and the hot tub and deck were lovely. Note that there is only a small fridge, with no freezer, and there is no oven, simply an air fryer and outdoor grill. Grocery shop accordingly, as we did. I definitely recommend hiking back to the falls behind the cabin, as well as heading down the road a bit to see Bruarfoss. The blue water of both is absolutely beautiful! Finally, Hjörtur was responsive to questions before and during our trip, and it was a great visit. I would stay here again for sure.

Die Hütte ist wie im Märchen eingerichtet, sehr schön dekoriert und super gemütlich. Man merkt, dass Agnes das Haus mit Liebe pflegt. Alles ist super sauber und Verpflegung sowie skin care sind vorhanden. Man kann sich bei Agnes richtig was gönnen. Die Hütte liegt auf einem Hügel in der Nähe vom Geysir und Gullfoss - eine Super-Lage für einen Urlaub in Island. Der Nachteil ist die große Entfernung zum nächsten Supermarkt. Aber Agnes ist sehr vorsorglich: Der Kühlschrank war bereits gefüllt als wir ankamen und keiner von uns musste hungern. Auch die Küche war voll eingerichtet mit Gewürz, Öl, Lebensmittel im Vorrat und Küchengeräten. Die Kommunikation mit Agnes war auch großartig. Sie hat uns immer schnell geantwortet und uns schnell geholfen, wenn wir Probleme hatten.

This place was absolutely gorgeous! Situated in nature but with everything we needed for our family. Highly recommended as a great homebase for Golden Circle activities!

We had a great time at the cabin! Actually, one of the highlights was our host Ylfa, who was always very helpful, provided a lot of very detailed information up front and reacted very quickly to all remaining questions we had - the communication was really a pleasure to us and on a level I have not experienced on Airbnb before. About the cabin: Our kids (3 and 6 years old) very much liked what they referred to as "the play cave", which is the upstairs sleeping loft. The kitchen is well equipped with all necessary things needed, far exceeding what would be minimal kitchen setup. Another highlight to us was the hot tub, which we used almost every day (despite wind and a bit of rain outside). The open view towards the west is very suitable to search for Northern Lights in the dark or just watch the stars. We mainly used the cabin as our homebase to different day tours around in western Iceland. In total, we really had a great time!

Sígrun’s place was exactly what we were looking for! We had the best welcome ever being greeted by the northern lights. The house is well equipped with everything you need. From kitchen appliances to toiletries. And the hot tub outside, is an excellent place to relax. Location is perfect. Very nice and quiet and also close to all the main attractions of the golden circle. Our farewell was also memorable with northern lights dancing for us! Some places we’d like to recommend: Sky Lagoon, Thingvellir National park (20 min drive from the house, bring good shoes, can be very slippery). Tryggvaskali restaurant, Messinn restaurant, Silfra restaurant. And of course all the other attractions around the golden circle. Thank you, Sigrún, hope to be back soon!

Hermosa cabaña, muy cálida y cuidada. Tienes todo lo necesario para pasar unos días hermosos y tranquilos. Hay unos juegos para niños bajando un poco el jardín, vista increíble del mar y la montaña, muy cerca de Borgarness y a la vez en el medio del campo. Katrin dio información muy específica para llegar, que nos ayudó para llegar al lugar. Todo perfecto la verdad. Nos hubiera encantado quedarnos más días.

Birgir's cabin is very snug & warm -- festive with bright red lights -- everything in its nook -- and an amazing perch to see across the valley & short drive to the fjord. Our trip was at the end of December and most days/nights were snowy & with some rain -- very beautiful, but definitely take heed of Birgir's cautions about driving in such weather (which held true, even as we had rented a 4-wheel drive Jeep!) -- it is a steep hill up to the cabin, and we did get stuck on our 2nd to last day -- but fortunately the neighbors in the house down the way were incredibly helpful & we got the car out! We enjoyed exploring Akranes & Borganes. We also did see the northern lights on the one clear night -- beautiful to see the green shimmering curtain of light above the steppes/mountains across the valley. Birgir was both proactive and very responsive.

We had a lovely time staying here! GORGEOUS location and so peaceful. Felt right at home here, it was truly a beautiful stay.

We had an incredible stay at this cabin! The views were absolutely stunning—like something out of a postcard. The host was super helpful and gave us some great local recommendations, including horseback riding at Laxnes Horse Farm and a visit to Hvammsvík Hot Springs, which was just a 30-minute drive away. We also went snorkeling at the Silfra Fissure, another unforgettable experience not too far from the cabin. The location is very peaceful and secluded, so we’d definitely recommend picking up groceries ahead of time and enjoying meals at the house. The hot tub was a huge highlight—perfect for soaking under the stars! A couple things to note: there isn’t a microwave, which would’ve been a helpful addition, and the hot water had that classic Icelandic sulfur smell, which took some getting used to. Still, this place was an easy 5/5. We’d absolutely stay here again!

We had a fantastic stay at house! The apartment was perfectly located. The cozy setup with modern amenities made it feel like a home away from home. Agust was incredibly responsive, providing great local tips and ensuring check-in was seamless. The value for the price was excellent. Highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Iceland – we’d love to return!

This was our family's 4th trip to Iceland and this is by far our favorite place we've stayed at. Words cannot describe how beautiful the setting is. The views of the lake & mountains are absolutely amazing! The cabin is charming and has two large bay windows which provide spectacular views. We felt right at home here. When I had a question, Gudrun was quick to respond. We loved the location. It's private & tucked away in a beautiful area but only 25 minute drive from my friend's house in Mosfellbaer, a lovely town of approximately 15,000 people and has a grocery store and restaurants. The cabin is only a 45 minute drive from Reykjavik. The icing on the cake is that we got to see the northern lights from the cabin! I definitely plan on staying here again in the future.

Wir waren sehr glücklich mit unserem kleinen Urlaub in Andreas sehr gemütlichen und sehr schönen Haus. Alles funktionierte einwandfrei und sie hatte dankenswerterweise alles Notwendige für die ersten zwei Tage bereitgestellt, so dass wir in Ruhe ankommen konnten. Wir haben Ruhe und Erholung gesucht und genossen. Das Haus lag für uns genau richtig, um Ausflüge in den Norden und nach Reykjavik zu machen, die unmittelbare Umgebung ist magisch schön, um viel Zeit draußen zu verbringen oder die Aussicht von der Terrasse oder dem Wohnzimmer zu genießen. Andrea war sehr nett und gut erreichbar. Wir werden uns immer an die schönen Tage erinnern und können das Haus uneingeschränkt empfehlen. Man spürt, dass es mit Liebe errichtet und eingerichtet wurde und es fällt leicht, es mit Respekt zu behandeln.

We stayed at this place for two nights ( 3 adults and 1 kid). It is very well equipped, you'll find everything you need for grilling or regular cooking. Views are breathtaking, and if you're lucky with the weather you can just chill outside and enjoy the fresh air. Hosts were very friendly and quickly answered all our questions. Instructions are perfect. One thing to note - if you use google maps, don't put the address there, use the coordinates. Address is correct, but google maps directs you to wrong location ( though, not far from correct place ).
