Outstanding cottage, would love to come back soon! The photos don’t do it justice! It’s even better when you’re there. Spotlessly clean, beautiful kitchen/dining room and comfortable bed. The views from the back garden were fab! I can’t recommend this enough, would have happily stayed there longer and will definitely return. It was a lovely gesture that Kate even baked for us!! Thank you so much :)

The barn is so cosy and clean. The photos don’t do it full justice as there is an extension with seating and new shower room. The sheep were friendly and the views are great. Gavin was on hand at check in and gave recommendations for places. Great stay! Will be back.

Cottage was spotless and the rooms were larger than we were expecting. The brownies were a lovely touch and the accommodation worked well for us attending a wedding nearby. The only thing I would say is we had to make the beds up on the bunk beds, which wasn’t a big deal but not what we wanted to do after a long drive. Thank you for a great stay.

Beautiful house, lovely host, in a very idyllic part of Yorkshire. Perfect for big groups who want to get out into nature and maybe grab the odd drunk in a country pub. I researched a lot of Air BnBs in the surrounding area and can say with some confidence that this is the best by far.

Out second time staying, this time at Tanyard Barn, last time in Tanyard Cottage. This stay was just a lovely as the last and is faultless. Michelle is so helpful. When visiting York we will always stay here as close enough to the city but within a countryside, village setting. Have already recommended both properties to friends.

So often a property disappoints with innacurate descriptions and misleading photos. This property is 5 stars in every respect. Recommend wholeheartedly, you will not be disappointed. David and Pierrette, Stamford and France 4/2025

We couldn't recommend the property highly enough. Excellent property in a quiet and private location, the living area is very well designed and facilities contributed to making our stay very comfortable.

Excellent AirBnB with great hosts. Thoroughly enjoyed our two nights at this idyllic cottage. Location was excellent - easy reach of motorway, Lakes and Yorkshire Dales. Can't fault anything and certainly hope to be back in the future.

We stayed for one night at Deans place to celebrate a 40th birthday. there was 4 of us that stayed and there was lots of room. The place is gorgeous! We had a great stay and would definitely stay again. We took an Uber to the nearest high street which was approx 10 minutes, there was lots of bars and place to eat there. Dean was a great host, always replying to messages and when we realised we'd forgotten our milk he brought some over for us. Thanks for a great stay

Beautiful property to relax and unwind with lovely surroundings and some good walks. Kev was responsive and friendly and we had no problems at all. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend.

We had a great stay at precious barn! The place was homely and cosy, with all the essentials you’d need for a comfortable stay. The fenced and gated garden area was great for being able to let our dog out knowing he can’t escape. The Dog and Gunn local pub was exceptional, amazing food and great atmosphere…I’d highly reccomend going if staying at precious barn.

I booked the place to have a chilled weekend celebrating my 30th birthday with family and friends and we had an amazing time. It’s a wonderful home in a brilliant location, with lovely walks in the area and easy access to Durham. It was clean, the views were amazing and communication with Judith was fantastic. A lovely hidden gem in the beautiful countryside. We absolutely loved our two night stay with our beagle Wilson. The barn is stunning with everything you need. Lovely fresh linen, fluffy towels and robes for when you get out of the hot tub with stunning views which is amazing! An absolute bonus to be able to watch the sheep and lambs so close by! Kaye and Jonathan were friendly and really helpful. We feel totally relaxed and refreshed. Thank you for a lovely stay and I’m sure we will be booking again soon ☺️

We had a lovely stay in a beautiful property with a well-maintained garden and a generously sized bedroom. The surrounding area is picturesque and peaceful. The only minor drawback was the occasional noise from passing trains, which may be noticeable to light sleepers. Ann was incredibly accommodating, especially with our special request for bedding arrangements, and it was a thoughtful touch to find milk in the fridge upon arrival.

Laurence & John’s home was so wonderful! It’s a cozy but very spacious converted historical farmhouse in a picturesque village. We stayed for 5 days and would certainly come back. There are great walks (and pubs) in the immediate area. Threlkeld is perfectly positioned to access Ullswater/Windermere & Derwentwater lakes (stunning drives). Cute kitchen with all the essentials. John was very helpful in recommending the best places to go. They’re both super friendly and charming. They really made our stay special and unique. So thank you guys, for a wonderful long weekend.

Place was exactly as described, really spacious perfectly laid out. Kitchen was well stocked allowing us to cook and have family meals. Great walk down to the local restaurant and enter the main city centre. Neighbours roundabout really friendly and recommended lots of lovely walks. Overall, a really great stay and will definitely be back

A beautiful cottage in truly stunning surroundings. There was everything you could possibly need to feel right at home. All of the instructions were extremely clear which was so helpful. Sarah was really responsive and happy to help with any queries. I couldn't recommend The Long Barn enough!
