Alison’s place was perfect for two young families. Incredible location, so central to the shops and an easy stroll to the estuary. The house is really well equipped. Honestly, the photos don't do Scott & Miriam's home justice - there's so much light, warmth and character to this home and you can tell they put a lot of thought into both the structural layout for the family and the overall presentation for guests. Having rented 2 cars and bought another during our stay, parking space was also not a concern. The hot tub was lovely but I'll personally miss the lovely garden space (we thoroughly enjoyed the tomatoes) and the decking which was was perfect for relaxing and just staring out to the beach after a long day. Before even arriving, we were sent a very useful guide to operating different bits of the house as well as local recommendations; our hosts were always available to respond to queries and were quick to offer help. Massive thank you to Scott and Miriam for making us feel so welcome during our first month in NZ!

The place is amazing, very large living area with many very clean and decently spaced rooms. I wasn’t aware of the 5-10 minute gravel road the house is on. Daniel was amazing at communicating when I need to get in touch with him however the packing up procedure could have been outlined better, but other than that the four informative emails sent outlined everything needed for our stay. The view is just as amazing in person as the photos both sunrise and sunset, especially lounging in the spa.

Perfect spot for a relaxing wekend with friends. We loved how close it was to the beach and the bikes made it so easy to get around Omaha. Kate was super helpful and accommodating.

Stunning week away over Easter. We arrived a few hours after a cyclone, which meant no power and water. Anneke was great with all communication about the situation. We chose to stay hoping the power would be back on soon. The next day it was. Meanwhile, Anneke bought us wine and coffee and then arranged a generator so we could shower and charge phones etc. Then we had six glorious days of sunshine with the odd shower. We love walking, so explored all the local walks in the booklets and info guide. Every afternoon we relaxed on the deck just watching the ocean and boats. We ended our days with an outdoor bath, which was Devine. Anneke was a wonderful host. A true legend. The Bach was beautiful, clean, new and private. Highly recommend.

This house is absolutely stunning. It sits on a private beach with magnificent sea views and a big deck looking out over the ocean. It’s surrounded by native bush, loads of birds and a feeling of privacy & serenity. The ocean-facing doors and windows all open up so it has a wonderful indoor/outdoor flow. There’s a lovely hot tub with a sea view too! Downstairs, there are the living spaces and upstairs, the bedrooms. The bedrooms are lovely - three large rooms with double (maybe queen or king??) beds, as well as two ‘kids rooms’ with twin beds and/or bunks. Two of the larger double rooms have private balconies & ensuites. It’s a beautiful & delightful house. Very well appointed. Perfect for a larger group, close to Matakana, Omaha and all of the lovely things to do there. We’ll be back! Five adults and six children had a wonderful weekend in Mangawhai, using Carolynn's house as our base. There was plenty of space for everyone to find their own corner, both inside and out. The kitchen was big enough for several cooks to work in at once and the dining table was big enough for us to all sit around so mealtimes were a treat, not a chore. Amazing view to the east, including sunrise across water and moonscape sand dunes. The spa at the end of the day was a special treat for our family, as was the large TV screen in the lounge. We missed a few books and board games but everything else was in good supply. Thank you for a special long weekend with my family Carolynn.

Beautiful spot, hard to explain in words how incredibly peaceful and special this spot is. We booked last minute to get away from the city and Linda was so helpful, highly communicative and it was better than we were expecting. We are also very grateful that we could take our dog, I’m pretty sure it was her idea of heaven!

One of our best AirBnB experiences! Beautiful location close to the river, friendly hosts, outstanding amenities and facilities and easy access to the town of Waipu and the nearby beaches. We only wish we had stayed longer! Would highly recommend.

We had a great stay at Ross’s bach. The house is comfy and spacious and it had everything we needed. It’s in a nice, quiet spot but still close to plenty of activities. Communication from Ross was excellent.

The house is just a stone’s throw away from the beach, which made it super convenient for daily trips. It was well presented, with a high standard of cleanliness throughout. You can tell the house is well-lived in, as it has every utensil and necessity you could possibly need – making it feel like home. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a comfortable and well-equipped spot by the beach for a family. Will definitely stay again!

Nice clean and quiet place, and walking distance to small supermarket and coffee. Good set up with comfy double beds in the three bedrooms and nice open plan kitchen and lounge. Great area to explore from this nice place. Highly recommend.

Lorna's bach is a true little gem in a hidden paradise, just a few minutes from the beach, quite spacious, modern apartment with own terrace. it's possible to use the SUP board and paddle over to the beautiful sandspit - a highlight in itself! Lorna is an amazing host, so kind, caring and helpful! Best accommodation i have stayed at in NZ. Highly recommended!

Unglaublich nette Besitzer, superfreundlicher Empfang und hilfreiche Tipps durch Allan. Tolle Ausstattung- es ist alles da, was man für einen gelungenen Aufenthalt braucht. Viele Lebensmittel zum Frühstücken, jede Menge Obst und dazu noch tolle Fruchtsäfte, Milch, Brot, diverses Müsli. Liebenswerter Weise hat uns Allan sogar zur Bushaltestelle gefahren und uns beim Ticketkauf unterstützt. Absolut empfehlenswerte Unterkunft und schön ruhig gelegen.

We had a great time at Denise and Mark’s place, the accommodation was excellent and if anything was even better than described. Denise and Mark were excellent hosts and very helpful both before our arrival and throughout our stay, we felt very welcome and could have happily stayed longer. We visited New Zealand as a one off from the U.K. for a wedding this time but we are very much considering a return trip next year and would definitely look to use this place as a base!

We love our stay at Greg's place. It's a great place to stay with the family who likes privacy and calming surrounding. It's close to town and beach, love the spa and pool although it was ice cold during our stay but I bet it was great on a more sunny day 😅 Overall, its worth the rate and love it!

Our daughter was getting married at a local venue, and the location of Lichfields Cottage was perfect for the bridal party's preparation for the big day. The cottage was comfortable and clean, and Kirsty provided a very useful list of local amenities and was responsive yet remained discreet. Thank you Kirsty for your kindness and we enjoyed our daily visits from the dog and the chickens. A wonderful distraction for our nervius bridesmaids.

This is very nice place to stay. A quiet area with some good walks. My situation was a little different as I wasn't on holiday and wanted somewhere quiet and reasonably close to the hospital where I was visiting my husband each day. The property is off the road and there are auto gates. As I was on my own this made me feel very safe - on top of which Genevieve was in the main house a lot of the day. It was comfortable and cosy (given my stay was during the winter) and Genevieve and her husband went out of their way to make sure I was comfortable. Thoroughly recommend and if I ever need to be in Whangarei for any length of time I hope I can use this accommodation again.

How an airbnb should be. Anna & Brian have created such a welcoming, peaceful oasis with all of the personal touches that make staying here so wonderful. A short drive from Auckland and you feel you're in the middle of nowhere (in the best way). A bottle of wine, homemade cake & bread, breakfast provisions (so many eggs we couldn't finish them all) topped off with a well kept tennis court, pool & spa - in a gorgeous apartment-like setting, we couldn't have asked for more. A great place to stay.
