Where to even start? This cabin was the absolute best. We went with a total of 8 adults and 6 children under the age of 5. The cabin was so much more spacious than the photos make it appear, which was a very pleasant surprise. The finished basement is huge and was a great space for the kids. The kitchen was very well equipped and spacious for us to cook meals and snacks. The beds were comfortable and the walls are thick and you can’t hear a lot of outside noise. The location is great - about 10 minutes to Davis and 15 to Thomas and plenty of hiking and other activities. Our Apple Maps didn’t route us to the right place, but G00gle Maps did, just as an FYI. Seriously can’t recommend this place enough. We will definitely be back.

We had a wonderful stay. The power went out on the mountain one evening and Emily was available to answer any questions and keep me apprised of the situation. She was a generous and considerate host.

This was our group’s first time in a ski in/out house and it did not disappoint. The convenience of being able to walk out back to ski was priceless. We had a great time and will be back!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Leslie’s Canaan Valley Ski Retreat, and I can't say enough good things about the experience! The house was incredibly comfortable and perfectly equipped for our needs. The location is fantastic—just a short drive to the ski slopes, making it super convenient for our winter adventures. Leslie was an outstanding host, communicating with us promptly and ensuring that the house was stocked to perfection. From kitchen essentials to cozy blankets, she truly thought of everything to make our stay enjoyable. I would highly recommend Leslie’s retreat to anyone looking for a cozy getaway in Canaan Valley. What a gorgeous place to stay, so close to amazing hiking trails. Upon entering the home, I was taken away by the stunning views through the beautiful windows…and the sweetest notes and treats for our family to welcome us there. The home smelled inviting , the furniture was very chic and comfortable, the personal touches made us feel right at “home.” The kitchen was well appointed and the home was sparkling clean. I really appreciated the cleanliness and the linens and towels were folded and placed as if we were at a resort. There was plenty of room for everyone on every floor of the home and games downstairs. We went hiking to Blackwater Falls, Seneca Rocks, and checked out the Canaan Valley NWR .We really loved coming back to the home after miles of hiking and relaxing on the deck or hanging out eating dinner at the huge dining room table in front of the massive windows with the most amazing view. We were all sad we couldn’t have spent more time there!Thank you for sharing your home

We loved our stay at Charlotte’s Web! It sits right beside the Canaan Valley Nat’l Refuge and is within a 5 min drive to Timberline Mountain. We also enjoyed hikes at Blackwater Falls, dinner and coffee in Davis, and had plenty of places to grab items we needed for meals. We felt cozy in the space, and so did our dog Roxie! The hot tub was an added treat. We hope to stay again in the not so distant future!

It was a nice, calm, beautiful stay in Mystic Mama. All description of the place is 100% accurate. Next time visiting WV is definitely with Matt !

The house was just as described. It was perfect for our little family getaway! Tons of space to spread out. Loads of fun extras. The view is amazing! We had a great time!

The place was perfect for a 3 day weekend with the kids and grandparents to explore everything Canaan Valley has to offer. The creek out back was peaceful and the kids enjoyed exploring the area as well as the hot tub. Beds were comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed and grocery store close by for the things we did need. Rita was responsive and very helpful with any and all questions. Highly recommend.

My wife and I needed a trip away from the city for the long holiday weekend where we could enjoy some good activity in peaceful surroundings with our dog. This cozy pedestal cabin in Black Bear Resort was just what we were looking for. Check in was easy by picking up the keys at the resort lodge. The place had everything we needed to a cook a couple nights for ourselves, including the gas grill on the deck. The wall-mounted 4K flatscreen TV with Roku let us relax after three active days out and about in Canaan Valley while we listened to the thunderstorms roll over the mountains each evening. This would certainly be a fine place for folks (especially with kids -- there were two sets of bunk beds in the loft) to use a base for their WV adventures any time of year!

This rental was absolutely great! The host was super sweet and extremely flexible with checking in and out, which meet our needs! Lots to do for our kids, beautiful scenery, and very well kept. Highly recommend and would like to come back again!

We loved our spring break stay at Otter's Den and would return in a heartbeat! Our group was two couples, four children (ages 9 months to 8 years) and one dog, and everyone had a great time. The house is perfect for kids -- lots of open space, and an incredible supply of games, puzzles, and books. We appreciated the comfortable beds and extremely well-stocked kitchen -- it was a joy to prepare meals in. The surrounding area has no shortage of beautiful spots, and host Heather gave us excellent recommendations for walks that even the hike-resistant toddlers enjoyed. Heather was generally a perfect host -- extremely responsive, helpful, and kind. She went above and beyond in ensuring we had a good time. We hope to come back next year!

We had a wonderful time at Kimberly’s place. We cooked all of meals and the kitchen had everything we needed…probably the best stocked kitchen we seen. Hot tub was awesome and we stayed in the “off” season so the neighborhood was super quiet, which we loved! Would definitely recommend!

Tashina's place was fantastic! We booked extremely last minute and she had no problem getting the place set up for us. It was in a beautiful location with great amenities - hot tub, fire pit, TV, and a river to fish in. There were only two downsides - one was the Internet actually worked better outside than it did inside (but we expected that with the remoteness of the place) and the beds could've been more comfortable. All in all, I'd stay again!

We loved everything about our stay at Dasha and Alex’s place. Cannot recommend their place enough if you have kids, love a cozy place, and want to explore, the surrounding parks, Dolly Sods, Thomas and Davis and more. We know where we’re staying on our next trip to WV! Thanks guys.

Great cabin for our party of 6. Would be kinda small for 8, especially if you plan on eating in. Table seats 6. Kitchen is small, but functional. Had everything you would need, especially the coffee bar! Hot tub was great. We all enjoyed the game room/loft. Bunk room was great for the kids! King mattress was comfy, although very low to the ground. Very clean cabin! Darian was very responsive to all of our questions & even checked in with us in the middle of our trip! Would definitely consider staying here again!
