We made a huge mistake when only booking this place for part of our stay. My thought was to jump around the South Island with my family at a couple stops. Had I known it was this awesome, then I would’ve booked our whole time at Anna’s. This place is exactly what my family loves. The kids will definitely be complaining about where we stay next. This property is AWESOME.

We loved this peaceful, spotless refuge while on grandparent duty. Deb and James were friendly hosts and made us feel right at home. We enjoyed hearing about local amenities such as the outstanding Opuke hot pools! Thank you.

Loved our stay. The Black House was cozy, comfortable and warm. The perfect spot for us to relax and unwind. Close to the lakefront but away from the bustle. The outdoor tub was a great ammenity. Beds were super comfortable and the house was spotless. The fire made a cold rainy evening cozy and relaxing. The host provided heaps of useful information and recommendations. Highly recommend!!

Ian and Tia were very loving hosts and attentive to whatever we needed. The cottage is fully equipped to spend a few relaxing days there.

We had an absolutely magical stay at this farm - a truly one-of-a-kind experience! Upon arrival, we found the fridge stocked with fresh milk and breakfast supplies, including delicious homemade butter and yogurt. The real highlight was the farm experience. Our farmer hosts went above and beyond - they were so warm and welcoming, introducing us to their adorable lambs (each with their own special name!) and other animals. They patiently shared their knowledge about farm life, making us feel like part of their family. It wasn't just accommodation - it was like stepping into a storybook. We'd return in a heartbeat and highly recommend this special place!

Loved our stay! Amazing views and super cosy house with everything we needed 😊 We will definitely be coming back! Jess and Nico were awesome hosts. One thing to note for families with kids: Master bedroom is upstairs and the other two bedrooms are downstairs.

We had a lovely stay whilst doing part of the Alps to Ocean bike ride. Really cosy place. The hot tub was the perfect temperature. The apple cake if you opt for dinner was brilliant. The only heads up I'd give other guests is that if you're over 5' 9 you might be ducking slightly in part of the bus, and there's no electricity inside. Neither was a problem for us though.

Perfect location to get away from the city life! It has an English feel to it, filled with lots of character! We were greeted by two very friendly dogs. I'd love to stay again in winter so I can use the huge log burner!

This home is in a beautiful and serene setting. It was about 1.5h from Christchurch airport and was the perfect antidote to the craziness of flying. At night, the only thing we could hear was the breeze and the gentle rain. I’d love to stay for a week. Annie was incredibly friendly and the welcome basket with homemade granola was tops. The basket also included potato chips made from the potatoes grown on the property! The kitchen was amazingly well stocked and my kid got to try Milo for the first time.

Very comfortable house for staying in and hanging out.

The place was close to the central strip of restaurants, market, sights and activities! Great location for our leg of the trip!

Terrific accommodation, real atmosphere. Underfloor heating in the bathroom even. Great place to stay for skiing or biking the mountains behind. Beautifully restored main house. Worth booking dinner at the property. Stately breakfast, in style.

Highly recommend! Friendly and helpful. Warm and have everything in the kitchen. The weather is not good. Rain all day. If there have a table and seats inside will be great.

We had a fantastic stay here for a couple of nights. The setting was beautiful and Michele was kind enough to let us explore the stunning garden and enjoy some of her home grown veg. The welcome couldnt have been warmer. The accommodation was clean and cosy and was perfect for us and our two small children. A perfect alternative to staying in Tekapo. We would loved to have stayed longer. Would strongly recommend this place to others.

We loved this cute cottage. Owners had the heating on for us. Much nicer than phots suggested and wonderfully quiet as at the back of owners home. We were expected street front from the photos so it was a lovely surprise. Wished we stayed more than a night as Geraldine is so lovely.

This was my second stay at Somers Holiday Cottage, and once again, everything was just perfect. The cottage was spotless and well-prepared, with a clean, fully equipped kitchen that made cooking a breeze. The heat pump kept the place warm and cozy, even on cooler evenings. I especially enjoyed the spacious garden and the peaceful surroundings—it’s such a relaxing spot. The quiet road nearby was ideal for my evening jogs, which I really looked forward to. A lovely bonus this time was being able to pick some delicious apples! Thank you, Leonie and Peter, for another wonderful stay. I’ll definitely be back again.

Our stay was lovely and peaceful. Everything we needed was provided. Janette was an attentive host and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend to others or to stay again (hopefully in 2027 😁)

This place was ideal for my writing retreat. It had everything I needed and was very comfortable. Having a writing desk and a proper computer chair was a real bonus and meant I could get on with my work and not end up with back ache. Lovely barn eggs and milk left for me too. I already am thinking about when I can come again! Thank you so much for everything!

Easy to find, nice quiet location with good privacy and easy access to central Timaru only 5 minutes away. It was exactly as described, nice to have breakfast cereal options provided and loads of coffee and teas to choose from.
