Qué harás

You’ll begin the class by learning the best kept secrets for authentic New Orleans cooking. After welcoming you and other guests into our home style kitchen, we will fill your glasses with wine, beer, soda or tea. You will discover the legendary Cajun Holy Trinity and the Holy Pope. We will then start cutting and prepping the vegetables in our spotless, clean kitchen and proceed to make the best New Orleans cuisine you’ve ever tasted.

Once the Cajun Holy Trinity and Pope is all chopped. Mise en place (everything in its place), we start the Dark Roux for the gumbo. After the gumbo, we start the light Roux for the Shrimp Etouffee.

After properly plating your meal, it's time to dine.

The last part of the class, (and possibly your favorite) will include teaching you how to make Bananas Foster. Yum! We’ll show you a fool-proof way to make this dessert that is sure to impress your friends and family.

We took the Roux class with Preston and it was incredible! Preston was extremely kind and welcoming and an excellent teacher. He told great stories and was interested in our lives as well. The food was amazing thanks to his expert teaching. I highly recommend the Roux cooking class and very highly recommend Preston (I am sure the other teachers are phenomenal as well, but can only speak to Preston).

Chef Byron is pretty awesome! we really enjoyed our evening and had a lot of fun preparing our meal. We also learned some cooking/prep tips and can't wait to make this meal at home.

Chef Preston was wonderful and showed us how to cook one of the best meals we have ever eaten. He was so full of knowledge and was happy to share history and tips about the area. His techniques are something we will use forever. We tried his restaurant recommendations and they were also wonderful. Would definitely go back.

The class was enjoyable. The meal was delicious, but since this was a hands-on class, it was difficult to take notes. The emailed instructions should help, but I wish I had videotaped the class because the production was as good as the presentation. I have tried shrimp etoufee in several restaurants, and I must say, this was the best ever. Definitely a fun and informative evening. Lots of nice touches, and I would recommend this to everyone!

We had an AMAZING time. It was very interactive both in the cooking and in conversation. We will definitely do this again on our next trip to NOLA. I would recommend this experience, it’s worth it!

Byron was amazing.. I do a lot of cooking at home however still left here having learnt a ton of new things. Byron is an incredible chef and just as an incredible person. Couldn’t have been more comfortable. This is a must do if your in New Orleans. Thank you for a fantastic evening
