Guests arrive and park in the designated area on the farm. I meet the guests outside to welcome them to Lion Springs Lavender Farm, and tell them about the farm and the organic process we use to grow lavender. The guests are given a tour of the lavender field, the 1928 Ford Tractor, the drying room for harvested lavender, the bee hives, and then we sit under the 1000 year old oak tree at a picnic table with a view of the mountains. Under the shade of the giant state-protected California Oak Tree, we will make lavender sachets from fresh dried lavender buds, and the guests will have a honey tasting to taste the fresh honey made on the farm. Next, the guests are brought onto the wrap around front porch of the farm house over looking the lavender field to relax, sip lavender lemonade, and sample Carmel Caramels, paired with sliced apples and chocolate, and to learn how the Carmel Caramels are made in the certified cottage kitchen (the sea salted lavender caramels are homemade on the farm with a cottage kitchen permit from Monterey County). We walk back to the cars and the guests bring with them their parting gift of an organic lavender sachet they made with lavender buds grown on the farm, and a 3 ounce jar of lavender honey.
I searched far and wide, and spent many years, to find the perfect place to start a certified organic lavender farm, now called Lion Springs Lavender Farm, in Carmel Valley Village, California, that specializes in culinary lavender and bee hives for lavender honey. On our beautiful 5 acre farm with stunning views of the Santa Lucia Mountains and surrounding vineyards, we have plenty of sunshine, a great climate, a natural spring well, and proximity to the Carmel River, that make this a wonderful location to grow lavender. With the lavender and honey, I developed a special recipe to make delicious, sea-salted, lavender caramels called Carmel Caramels, with the lavender honey from the bees on our organic farm. It's a delight to share Carmel Caramels with others ,and they always sell out when I sell them at local farm markets.

As a parting gift, guests will be given supplies to make an organic lavender sachet that they can bring home with them.
We will have exclusive access to a private organic lavender farm with sustainable farming practices, that is a special place to see and experience. The guests will have the opportunity to tour the lavender farm with the lavender farmer, and to sit on the wrap around front porch of the farm house to sample lavender lemonade, homemade lavender caramels, and lavender honey from the bees on the farm.
