This two bedroom apartment features industrial and organic designs with chalkboard walls, handmade wooden furniture, and abstract paintings lining the walls. It is only two blocks from local Cafés, bars, and restaurants that line Edgewood. City transit is within easy walking distance, über is available everywhere in the city, and I also have a bike available for daily rent.
Handmade art and furniture from deconstruction of old film and TV sets from around the country, projector in the living room, and a really "warm" place to call home.
There is so much to do! My favorites are the local Cafés. There are also a lot of bars and restaurants that line Edgewood, just two blocks away.

Our apartment is self-contained and self-catering; we renovated it by hand as a family of artists and craftspeople, and filled it with comfort and personal touches. It's light-filled and roomy, quiet and private, close to everything, and has everything you need. Free private parking space, wifi, a/c- heat, w/d, private patio and use of wooded back yard. Close to beltline, highway, buses and subway, shopping, restaurants, parks, downtown. Good for walkers and bikers. Come stay at our house!
As a fully-functioning self-catering apartment, we've furnished our guest quarters to the same level of comfort the family enjoys upstairs, including wool rugs in winter over original wood floors, antiques, original artworks and handicrafts, a well-stocked pantry (food, snacks, coffee and teas), fully-quipped laundry, shower/bath, eclectic books and dvds, comfortable sleeping. It's so quiet that you won't know when it's raining outside - yet we have dogs and kids and wooden floors, so it's not always silent. Do note that the apartment is comfortable for a maximum of three guests, and is not childproofed. At the entrance, a serene living room rich in blues and reds, with original pine floors. There's a full bookshelf, and an ample video library with a flatscreen smart (roku) TV, where you can watch local channels, dvds, and netflix. The bedroom is done in restful greens and blues. Original art adds a little whimsy to our vintage '70s wooden furniture. Plenty of dresser space, an enormous walk-in closet, king-sized mattress, cotton sheets, plenty of blankets and quilts, and a large choice of feather/down and synthetic pillows. A flat screen TV with playstation means you can watch Netflix from the bed. There's a sun-drenched, fully equipped, well-stocked, eat-in kitchen with a gas stove and a full sized fridge. Everyone likes to spend time here, it's so spacious - from the kitchen table you can see the whole apartment, and gaze out through our woods into far Cabbagetown. Beyond the kitchen is the laundry room with a washer and dryer, an iron and board, and a bathroom with tub and shower, extra towels, and all the essentials. We've even tie-dyed our towels! We have house plants, an air purifier, and a salt lamp to freshen the air; all the windows open and are screened for those balmy summer nights; ceiling fans and window A/C units cool the apartment, central heating in the winter: you control the temperature. The apartment is roughly 800 square feet, and full of light - one half of the ground floor - 5 windows. Outside there's a patio table and chairs for your use (especially for smokers), and a gently sloping wooded back yard with a winding path that leads to another, more secluded seating area. It is uncharacteristically quiet for such a busy part of town. Bike tours come through the alley, past our little nature preserve. We like to wave as we sit and watch the trees, the birds and squirrels, the dog walkers. You can listen to the crickets, the distant traffic, the MARTA trains, feel the breeze, watch the sky, try to spot the elves. As long as you enjoy your stay in our little bit of fairytale land. We are surrounded by restaurants within walking distance. The Zoo, a Victorian era cemetery, the new Beltline - they're all here. We're a bare mile from downtown Atlanta and all its conferences. You couldn't pick a more convenient place, tucked away, right in the middle of everything. We have included a security deposit in our listing, but please note that it is never applied unless there is damage.
We live in one of downtown Atlanta's oldest neighborhoods, the Grant Park Historic District, established in 1886: urban and conveniently located, but with 100-year old trees, and families with kids. Whether you're in Atlanta for a meeting, a mart, or a convention, or you're here to see the sights, visit a client's office, house-hunt, or work on a film project, you couldn't be closer to where your action is. We're a mile from the Capitol, and a block off the interstate, next to the Memorial redevelopment corridor, and close to the Beltline. The area may be old, but north Grant Park is undergoing a rapid transformation, and there is new housing and shopping going up all around us. We are part of the Belt Line system, and our street will soon be part of a bike boulevard. We are right in the middle of exciting Atlanta. Leave Atlanta traffic at the corner as you enter Grant Park, a gracious old neighborhood with century-old Queen Anne houses and shady oak trees. Our house was built in 1898, and we spent years restoring it. Our family lives upstairs, and the guest quarters take up half the ground floor - our art studio takes up the other half.

This private apartment is connected to our modern craftsman home. It has a separate entrance, kitchenette, sitting area, and a private, spacious bathroom. A reserved off-street parking space in front is included.
Your private studio apartment has stylish furnishings and includes a wet bar, mini fridge and microwave. The luxury en suite bathroom has a roomy walk-in shower with dual rainshower heads. The bed is queen size and the living space includes two comfy armchairs, as well as a cafe table and chairs for plenty of space to eat, relax and work. WiFi is included. The flat-screen TV includes free Netflix via Roku, as well as local stations, although no cable--sorry! A reserved off-street parking space in front is also yours to use. Our home has a wrap-around porch and the rear portion (with outside table and chairs) is all yours. It's perfect for your morning coffee or tea- supplies and equipment included!
We're a 10-15 minute walk to the restaurants, bars, and coffee shops of two of Atlanta's most charming neighborhoods--Grant Park and Cabbagetown. Although we're in the heart of things - only 2.4 miles to the new Mercedes-Benz stadium and Philips Arena - our place is on a secluded gravel road. Walk about half a mile north, and you're at the Atlanta Beltline-- a converted rail line that's now a walking/biking/running path through some of Atlanta's best neighborhoods. If you walk to the end (about 3 miles), you'll reach Atlanta's biggest green space- Piedmont Park. Along the way, you'll encounter hip restaurants, coffee shops, bars, and cool street art, as well as Krog Street Market and Ponce City Market (open-concept markets in old industrial spaces with food/shop stalls). Walk about 15-20 minutes south, and you'll hit the north end of Grant Park (the park that gives the neighborhood it's name) and eventually the Atlanta Zoo. On Sunday mornings, you can visit the Grant Park Farmer's Market, regarded as one of Atlanta's best. Walk 10 minutes west, and you'll encounter historic Oakland Cemetery. The garden-style cemetery is free and open to the public during the day, and contains centuries-old monuments and graves. Gone with the Wind author Margaret Mitchell and golf legend Bobby Jones are among the many whose final resting places you can visit. With all the sites around us, it's entirely possible (if you're up for the walk or want to rent a bike) to skip the car altogether and travel through much of intown Atlanta from our home base.

We have stocked the loft with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Comfy bed, Flat screen 's TV's with Xifinity internet + premium channels, Full Kitchen, sitting area, dining area, work desk, washer/dryer. Public transportation-Marta, and the Atlanta Eastside Beltline are a few blocks from the loft. The Beltline is popular for walking or biking to the Old Fourth Ward Park, Ponce City Market, Roger Street Market, and Piedmont Park. The King Memorial Park + Jimmy Carter Centers are also within walking distance. We have lived in the neighborhood for 16 years and enjoy being able to take Marta to Mercedes Stadium + the airport. Some of our Favorite neighborhood places within walking distance are: Noni's Restaurant, Georgia Beer Garden, Sister Louisas Church (it's a bar), Rias BlueBird Diner, Thumbs Up Diner, Grant Park Market, Six Feet Under Restaurant, The Joy Stick, St Augustines, Revolution Donuts, Roger Street Market.
In recent years, the “O4W” has become a striking symbol of intelligent gentrification in the Georgia capital, a place where abandoned warehouses are being converted to lofts and small businesses are thriving–while the authentic flavor of this historic area remains preserved. Here are ten reasons to love this ever evolving neighborhood: 1. KROG STREET MARKET is a destination for Atlanta’s intown culture – those who are always searching for unique, specialty creations. It’s designed to be as authentic as the 1920’s warehouse it’s built into. With market stalls to sell produce, goods, and prepared food, along with a few southern-grown restaurants and retailers, the market will offer Atlantans a gathering place of sorts – a locale for taking in an extraordinary meal or picking up a few inspiring ingredients – a west coast-style market Here’s what people are saying about Krog Street Market: •Top 11 Must-Visit Food Halls Across the U.S – Zagat •Top 10 Spots Fueling the Food Hall Revolution – Departures •Ten Best Food Halls in the U.S. – Fodor’s Travel Ponce City Market. Housed in the former Sears, Roebuck & Company building, this mixed-use development is poised to become the city’s next hot spot for eating, shopping, working, and living. Modeled after Chelsea Market in New York City, Ponce City Market has already lined up top-shelf retail and restaurants to fill the massive space. 2. The Atlanta Streetcar. Atlanta’s public transportation system isn’t up to par with most major metropolises in America, but the Atlanta Streetcar is a good start toward getting it there. It’s also rekindling a link with the city’s past, when electric streetcars connected the community. The first phase of the project will link the MLK National Historic Site with Centennial Olympic Park, where further transfers can be made at the MARTA rail and bus lines. 3. The BeltLine. It started with a Georgia Tech graduate student’s proposal to transform outmoded railroad tracks line into a walking and cycling path through Atlanta. Now, the BeltLine is becoming a reality. The most commonly used section is the Eastside Trail between Piedmont Park and Irwin Street, which goes past Ponce City Market. This area is home to frequent art installations, as well as restaurants with open-air seating. 4. Epic Southern Brunch. Sunday brunch is one of the things at which the South excels, and no neighborhood does it better than the Old Fourth Ward. Head to Parish or Two Urban Licks, where you can stuff your face with eggs Benedict while watching the drama unfold on the BeltLine below. Highland Bakery is the ultimate in decadence, with French toast as big as your head, while diner-chic Home Grown, on the border of Reynoldstown, serves up the best biscuits in town. 5. Edgewood Avenue Nightlife. Atlanta’s young and hip used to make a beeline for Buckhead to wet their whistles, but Edgewood Avenue is fast becoming the place to find affordable dive bars with authentic ATL edge. Perhaps the best example is Sister Louisa’s Church of the Living Room and Ping Pong Emporium (shortened to Church), where guests can people-watch or play table tennis while wearing choir robes. Mother is another popular bar, as is Joystick, where you can play your favorite childhood arcade games while sipping craft beers. 6. Jackson Street Bridge. Fans of The Walking Dead will immediately recognize the stretch over Freedom Parkway from the opening sequence of the show when Rick Grimes enters the abandoned city on horseback. The unassuming Jackson Street Bridge is frequently used as a backdrop for amateur photo shoots for fans and those looking for the best view of the skyline at all hours. 7. Street Art. Graffiti used to be an urban scourge; now it’s being embraced as a means of transforming otherwise drab brick buildings into works of art. This is especially true in the Old Fourth Ward, with the annual Living Walls, the City Speaks conference bringing in artists from all over the U.S. to beautify streets like Edgewood Avenue, Carroll Street, and Krog Street Tunnel. 8. Local Markets. Sweet Auburn Curb Market, established in the aftermath of the Great Atlanta Fire of 1917, is where generations of locals have gone to purchase fresh food. Dozens of restaurant stalls–notably Bell Street Burritos, Arepa Mia, and Grindhouse Killer Burgers–have also opened up. The Freedom Farmers Market takes a more traditional approach, setting up Saturdays in the parking lot of the Jimmy Carter Library and Museum (one of Georgia’s native sons). Pick up produce and meats from local farmers, as well as baked goods, fresh pasta, and ready-to-eat fare. 9. History: The Old Fourth Ward is one of Atlanta’s oldest areas. That’s why developers are taking pains to preserve that heritage while giving historical–but dilapidated–buildings new identities in the modern age. Ponce City Market is a prime example of this, as is the Masquerade, a popular indoor-outdoor music venue that occupies the old Dupre Excelsior Mill complex. Get a taste of what the neighborhood looked like before gentrification began in full force by touring the Sweet Auburn Historic District. 10. Community Pride. Most Atlantans are proud of their city, but O4W residents take even greater pride in their neighborhood. They come out to support events like the Georgia Marathon, which passes through the area, with pom-poms and signs. They also throw a great party, with festivals such as the Old Fourth Ward Arts Festival, Sweet Auburn Springfest, and One Musicfest. Caroline Eubanks is a freelance writer from Atlanta, Georgia. Welcome to Cabbagetown; the coolest neighborhood in ATL. One block from Carroll Street restaurants and Beltline mural walk, this remodeled art studio is the perfect spot for your stay in Atlanta. The Cottage is full of reclaimed wood and furniture, with a touch of retro style. Much of the furniture was handmade by your hosts with a little help from neighborhood fabricator, Stein Steel.
The Cottage was remodeled in 2018 with elements from around the historic neighborhood. Original beams from an 1800's Cabbagetown home frame the interior rafters, doorways, and bed frame. Other features include: - Industrial waterfall shower head - Refurbished 1950's GE refrigerator - Antique steel framed shower door - Bathroom vanity with Singer base - Bowling alley counter top and wash-pail sink - Vintage sofa
Cabbagetown is an historic neighborhood (listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places) and one of Atlanta’s oldest industrial settlements. It was built for the workers of the South’s first textile processing mill, Fulton Bag and Cotton Mill, which opened in 1881. The main house was among the first in the neighborhood, built in 1890. The neighborhood today remains a friendly, welcoming, eclectic center for art, music and enjoying the company of those around you.

Cabbagetown in Atlanta, GA is a historic neighborhood that traces its roots to the late 19th century. Originally a mill town built to provide housing for Fulton Bag and Cotton Mill workers. Cabbagetown in Atlanta is located within a six-block, just east of downtown Atlanta, and the Historic Oakland Cemetery is located a few blocks west of Cabbagetown. Today, Cabbagetown is home to beautifully restored bungalows, charming restaurants and local arts shops. Please note that you are on a rather busy street, where on some nights, live music is played. It is an absolutely amazing experience but every now and then we get the occasional guest that is not thrilled about this. Restaurants in walking distance include Carroll Street Cafe, Agave, Little's Food Store, Milltown, Doc Chey's, Grant Park Market, Mi Barrio, Mouth of The South, 97 Estoria, Ria's Bluebird Cafe, Standard Food & Spirits, Republic Social House, Doc Chey's Grant Park, Six Feet Under, Just Loaf'n, Octane Coffee, Daddy D'z, and Tin Lizzy's Cantina.
