A pleasant cosy room in a terraced house in the centre of Buxton situated on the edge of the Peak National Park.
A cosy and comfortable room containing a king size bed with a firm mattress. Why a King size bed in an average size room? The answer to that is, I'm afraid I am useless with a tape measure!! It can be a bit of a squeeze getting into bed but there is lots of space to move around once your in :) Lockable bedroom door. All bedding and towels are provided. There are tea/coffee making facilities in the room. The bathroom: (shared with me) is right next door to the bedroom. Please note there is only a hand held shower in the bath and it is not designed to be a wet room. There is a smart TV in the room. Amazon prime and catch up TV is available but not regular programmes. If you decide to watch a film or series that does not have prime next to it on the menu there will be a charge for rental made by Amazon. Wifi is available so bring your lap top or iPad along with you. You are welcome to help yourself to breakfast cereals, yogurts and toast in a morning and use the dining table, plates and cutlery etc at other times to eat take away meals or to sit and have a drink. You can also use the microwave Outside space: you are able to use the outside areas. When the sun does shine it tends to be at the back of the house in the morning and at the front in the afternoons. I must add Buxton isn't favoured for its sunny weather!
Buxton lies just outside the National Park boundaries. There are lots of places to walk and explore with the Goyt Valley close by and Grinlow woods almost on our doorstep. Buxton is an old market and spa town nestling among the surrounding Derbyshire Hills at a height of 1000ft making it the highest town in England. It is often referred to as the Festival Town of the Peak District. My home is close to the Buxton Opera House, Pavillon Gardens and Art Centre, Serpentine Walk, Buxton Museum and Art Gallery, Pooles Cavern and Solomns Temple. There are a variety of micro breweries, bars, cafes and restaurants in the town.

Most of the local pubs and bars have live music. A newly opening cinema at the Pavilion Arts Centre from mid December. The beautiful Peak District is on your doorstep for outdoor pursuits like walking, cycling, caving, canoeing, fell running etc. Buxton has the 3rd largest summer fringe festival in the UK. Buxton plays host to a vibrant arts scene, this includes a packed schedule at the Opera House and theatre; regular features of exhibitions at the local art galleries. There are some notable stately homes including Chatsworth Hall which was the set for Pride and Prejudice, there is also Lyme Park, Haddon Hall and Kedleston Hall.

The house is half a mile from the Market Place in a quiet residential street.The town centre, station and the famous Buxton Opera House - are within 15 minutes walk. Buxton is surrounded by the Peak District National Park. It is an Edwardian three storey terraced house with original features, high ceilings and a lovely atmosphere, in a quiet street. The dog and two cats provide their own special welcome. The price is £ 25 per night, + £10 for a second person.
Guests can use the front room where there is TV and stereo, the dining room and kitchen. If guests would like to cook an evening meal there is a five ring hob, two ovens and microwave available, plus fridge and all usual kitchen equipment. The back garden is secluded and sunny from midday with seating and fire pit barbecue that guests can also use. Breakfast is included consisting of a selection of cereals, fruit juice home made bread ( not guaranteed) toast marmalade tea and coffee. All help yourself. The house is 15 minutes walk from the town centre, Pooles Cavern, the Opera House, bus and train stations. Buses run to Ashbourne, Bakewell, Chatsworth House and hourly trains to and from Manchester. Walking and cycling trails are extensive in this area and we have maps and routes available. Our house has an informal and homely atmosphere and has often been described as a home from home. Parking is on street.

Free street parking no permit needed, we can not always guarantee a parking space directly outside the appartment , however cars come & go all the time so i never struggle to park there.

Dingley Dell is close to All Buxton Spa Town landmarks such as the Crescent and Spa Baths, The Opera House, Pavilion Gardens and Pooles Cavern and Country Park. Walks in every direction and shops just down the road. Near a driving range and golf course, a Supermarket is a short drive a way 'Dingley Dell' is a warm and large family Victorian style town house with all the rich features of this era. Please be aware that the accomodation is on the top floor via 2 flights of stairs.
Our house is the culmination of a dream we have held for many years... we wanted to create a home big enough for our family whilst having the option of welcoming travellers and making new friends along the way! We love Buxton and the amazing scenery and history of this beautiful Spa town situated 1000ft above sea level in the Peak District. We have strong links with the area, if we don't know the answer- we will know someone who does! We are very much involved in festivals and community projects... this town is vibrant and filled with culture throughout the summer months- even if we can't necessarily predict the weather! Please note that as your accommodation is the top floor of a family home, we may be at the property on the same night that you stay with us. We ask kindly therefore, that noise levels are kept to a minimum after 10pm to enable our children to be able to get to sleep :-) Our main kitchen facilities are available for you to use especially those staying more than one night, but with prior notice please as this is our family kitchen.
The Old Hall Hotel was visited by Mary Queen of Scots and is steeped in history, with wonky floors and everything! There is a statuesque Museum and Art Gallery on the approach to the Market place (in this market town- with a somewhat scaled down market these days unfortunately- but this is a work in progress) There is a lovely Art Gallery run by artist volunteers called the Green Man Gallery, just behind the museum. There are coffee houses, a cocktail bar, restaurants from around the world as well as many providing English fayre. Plenty of walks, open spaces, parks and a breathtaking cavern. There is a spa water swimming pool and gymnasium situated in the palatial Pavilion Gardens with fantastic parks for children- and there is ice cream! Be certain to add the grand Buxton Opera House to your list of must sees - just the building alone, with gold leaf interior and marble pillars is worth the visit. The events programme there offers everything from International Opera tours to huge names in Pop, Rock and even yearly visits by pre-school idols! All within a short walk, there is a well frequented night club and after hours bars, pubs and micro-pubs too. The shops are fabulous, from Boutique to Boots- Buxton really does have it all!

Cafes, restaurants and independent retailers fill quirky period buildings and prove an absolute delight. Buxton is renowned for its fascinating architecture and buildings, such as the Devonshire Dome and the Buxton Crescent, built in the style seen in the city of Bath, both these buildings await your discovery and are a short walk. Entertainment doesn't disappoint and live bands feature in many special bars at night, or why not try something different like Go Ape! Explore the nearby lush peaceful dales, wild romantic highlands or quaint little villages with hearty food pubs such as nearby Castleton or Hartington that make the Peak District the nation's favourite national park. For walker's you'll struggle to find a better location, the surrounding area plays host for wonderful waking and can be discovered overground on the Monsal trail, the Tissington trail by going up Mam Tor or walking over Dovedale stepping stones or underground at the nearby Pooles Cavern or Treck Cliff Cavern. This is our brand new, self contained luxury apartment, right in the centre of Buxton two minutes walk from the Buxton Opera House, Pavilion Gardens and the Crescent Spa. On the ground floor of a large Victorian town house with private access and an outdoor seating space. There is free parking for one car in front of the apartment with a car park, taxi rank and bus stops nearby. The apartment is a cool, stylish space ideal for couples, solo adventurers or business travellers.
We have designed the apartment with luxury furniture, fixtures and fittings for 2 guests. We have a double sofa bed (with memory foam mattress topper) which can also be used by guests. We have kept the space minimal and private and are developing the private outdoor yard to be a lovely sun trap and seating/dining area - a definite plus in the centre of town. Sorry but the flat is not set up for children, pets, parties or events. We have an outdoor shoe policy to help look after the floorings inside and will provide slippers if guests have not brought their own. Beverages, and basic kitchen supplies are made available.
We are just up from the beautiful slopes, the Crescent, Pavilion Gardens and Opera House. The stunning Old Hall Hotel is at the bottom of our road and we have a number of cafes and pubs within very easy reach. The Peak District countryside surrounding Buxton is amazing so we have made sure that guests can borrow maps and local information and we have a comfy 'reading corner' in the apartment with our reference books. We are a 100yds from the well which is the source of all Buxton water..free for all our guests ha ha!

Our place is in a quiet, residential street less than 10 minutes walk from the centre of a beautiful Spa town. Buxton has lots to offer in terms of art, culture, cafes, bars and restaurants and of course the stunning Peak District countryside. Our home is very light and airy, has a very comfy bed and a clean modern kitchen and bathroom. Our place is good for couples, solo adventurers and business travellers alike and has convenient rail and bus links to Manchester and the surrounding areas.
We are an easy going couple who believe in offering a home from home experience for guests and the sort of cleanliness and comfort we would expect ourselves when travelling. The guest bedroom is warm and cosy with a very comfortable bed. It also has tea and coffee making facilities, a TV/DVD player and clock radio. The bathroom and kitchen are clean, modern and well equipped. Although the exterior of our home may be modest; once inside you will appreciate the light, airy feel and the homely surroundings. We have a lovely private garden which we use as much as possible and which you are welcome to enjoy. On cooler days we have a wood burning stove, which adds a cosy feel to the house. As we want you to feel at home, breakfast is a very relaxed, self service affair with plenty of cereals, toast, fruit juice, tea and coffee. We are also happy for you to cook in our kitchen, which is well equipped with a gas range, microwave and toaster. We just ask that you leave it as you find it.
We're fortunate to live in a very quiet, residential area with plenty of free on street parking. It is really convenient for the town centre and all that Buxton has to offer. Buxton Opera House, The Pavilion Gardens, Buxton swimming pool, The University of Derby and numerous bars, cafes and restaurants are all within a 10 minute walk from our house. We also have a 24hr Tesco/petrol station within a 3 minute walk.

I have 3 chickens so there are usually lots of freshly laid eggs.
Buxton is the highest market town in England in the heart of the Peak District with the National Park surrounding it. We are a Spa town with a natural well in the centre of town 10-15 mins walk away where you can taste the mineral water from the natural spring. Buxton Opera House and Pavilion Gardens 15 mins walk away. Buxton has a small Brewery and the Tap house sells most of the locally brewed beers. Poole's Cavern or Poole's Hole is a two-million-year-old natural limestone cave. Alongside Go-Ape. We are only 20 mins drive from Bakewell and Chatsworth House.

Prices include a full cooked breakfast, served between 8-9am. The bedroom has twin beds which can be ‘zipped & linked’ to form a very comfortable super king-sized bed. The room is configured as a double by default, please let me know when booking if you prefer twin beds; the luxurious bed linen has a thread count of 400+ to ensure you get a restful night's sleep; the room contains a generously stocked hospitality tray with biscuits, tea, coffee, hot chocolate, many varieties of specialty tea; and a silent-running fridge with a jug of fresh milk. The house has a park a couple of minutes walk from it and the main town centre is less than a 10 minute walk. It is a fresh, light & homely, well equipped house with everything you will need. The house gives you great flexibility and makes a pleasant alternative to all double rooms or a family room in local hotel or bed and breakfast. There is on road parking outside the house with no time restrictions. You are in central Buxton so everything is within walking distance including the fabulous Opera House and the historical Pavilion Gardens. Take a walk down the slopes to see the old Devonshire Dome & spa. EV Charging. Please note the EV charger is located at our home about 1 mile from the property in a secure gated parking area, we have an fully electric vehicle so need to keep that charged but we will always give guests priority access. It's a 7kw untethered charger with a type 2 connector. Assuming we're available we'll do what we can to offer a lift between the house and your car.

2 good sized double bedrooms are included at the base rate. You can request a z bed which comfortably sleeps an adult, and the double sofa bed in the living room can be made up. PLEASE ADD EXTRA GUEST/ £10 per night extra per extra bed. Spacious living room and a cosy bathroom for your exclusive use on same floor. The living room has a TV, kettle, microwave, mini fridge and mugs and bowls for BASIC catering. There's a table and chairs ideal for breakfast, jigsaws, Monopoly or whatever!
The rooms are on the top floor - TWO FLIGHTS OF STAIRS! We'll be here to welcome guests on arrival as we have shared access. Check-in times negotiable. I work from home so there's the option of dropping off bags at least, throughout the day. Check- out by mid-morning. Again, there's usually the option of leaving bags with us.
We love living here. It's about as close as you can get live to the town centre but it's in a really quiet and friendly neighbourhood. We enjoy popping over to 53 degrees North on Hall Bank for drinks by the open fire. The Old Sun Inn below the market place is a wonderful old stone floored pub with lots of character and great meals too. You're spoilt for choice for coffee houses. An interesting venue for coffee is in the University of Derby campus in the Dome or just play around with the acoustics which are great fun . The architecture/ structural engineering is superb. Delicious breakfasts and lunches at The Green Pavilion Cafe - a very short stroll from here, the Tradesman's Entrance on the marketplace or Eat at No.5 on London Rd. The Opera House and the Arts Centre are very close too. You can often find live music in the local pubs. Buxton now has its own cinema and film club. The Pavilion Gardens is a must for a stroll. Or run round them 3x in the Park 5k for free on the 2nd Saturday of the month!
