Beautiful setting at the edge of the Paugussett State Forest. A great waterfall hike, and otherwise a 6 mile loop. Area is peaceful and calm. No cars driving by. I left Brooklyn not long ago for some fresh air. The drive is 90 mins from NYC, 2 hours in traffic. One can swim or hike or read on the terrace or just rest. I'm a Gen Xer, I like people who travel and explore. There are no stores around so bring your things or pop down to the town, 15 mins away.
A mid century 2 BR house. The guest room is in the back and is private. The mattress is a Shifman. Everything is natural, such as feather pillows. The bathroom is off the kitchen. I have my own quarters so there wouldn't be anyone sharing.
We are off 84 up a long windy road, then another until the edge of the forest. This is a humble working class summer lakehouse place so it's very down to earth. People are super nice. There is nothing to buy within walking distance.

Lakes in walking distance, Metro-North rail; 7 minutes, local shopping area 1 mile. Bus route in walking distance. Great neighborhood!! All are welcomed. Warm community.
Very relaxing and quiet environment. 7 minutes to the railroad, several lakes around, 15 minutes from Sikorsky and many parks around
Many trails, and few state parks in close proximity to the town. Beaches not far away, creameries, farms and orchards.

Yo hablo Espanol, un poquito. Apredio en escuela superior mucho anos pasado. Yo visito a Cuba, Puerto Rico y Costa Rico. Bienvenidos amigos de Lois y Bill W.
Guests are welcome to use the kitchen and dining room. In the summer guests are more than welcome to sit outside in the backyard.
This street has historic value. In the early 1900s an African man named John Boone purchased several acres of land on Hull Street and Silver Hill Rd. He built a home for his family and then sold the rest to other African Americans. This was a great service because it was impossible for them to buy property.

Our Mt Laurel Cabin is nestled up our mountain amongst the Mountain Laurel in the woods near the hilltop pond and Rustic Kitchen.
Our rustic Mountain Laurel Cabin is a favorite among guests. Voted Most Romantic, the cabin is nestled down in a glen providing plenty of privacy and all the green you can gather in! You will most certainly feel like you’re in a little love nest the way that the Mountain Laurel branches provide interesting structure along the inside walls of the cabin. This is a single screened in room with a double bed, small couch, table, battery powered string lights and drinking water. This cabin is the most magnificent in the morning when the first rays of sun stream in through the dense foliage. This cabin is located behind the rustic kitchen. PLEASE NOTE -The bathroom is not located in the cabin. Both the bathroom and showers are a few minute walk away on a path through the woods and are located separately. -There is a large communal bonfire pit located about 100 feet from the cabin. Once you book we ask that you keep us updated on your arrival time so that we can be sure to be ready and waiting for you!   We ask that all guests arrive before dark   Guests arriving after 10pm will be required to pay an additional $20 late check in fee in cash upon arrival. We apologize but we must enforce this even if you are late due to circumstances out of you control. We do not accept check-ins on Tuesday or Wednesday but message us if you want to stay through the week and are having trouble booking. It’s simple living at its best. We're just over one hour from NYC but local folks love us too. We are an easy, inexpensive "staycation" and many use us frequently as their guest "bedroom" when out of town family or friends come. We offer a unique setting for your summer get-a-way or family reunion. There is a communal Rustic Kitchen on the top of the mountain ideally situated between the Pagoda cabin, Mtn. Laurel cabin and Summit cabin. The kitchen has cookware, plates, french press, utensils, a stove, grill, coolers with ice, olive oil, salt/pepper, drinking water and running water! Lighting is limited and provided by LED lanterns - we always encourage people to bring their own additional lighting.  There are three large designated fire pits on the property. Some cabins also have their own fire pits which is noted in their individual descriptions. Fires are not allowed to be made in undesignated places! Only YOU can prevent forest fires!  Fire wood is not available this season so please pre-plan and purchase wood before arriving. Wood can be purchased at many places including Stop and Shop. Please Note per Connecticut state law - firewood cannot be brought in from out of the state.  Upon arrival we will provide you with a map and your own cooler with ice. We ferry our guests and their belongings up to their cabin at check in and upon check out but please remember that during your stay you will be traveling on foot! We cannot allow cars to drive up and down the mountain. At the minimum if you are a large party you can initially drive your car up to unload but will have to park at the base before dark. Please remember this when packing and planning your initial grocery provision trip. Most of the cabins are a 10-25 minute walk through the woods, depending on your speed. We do not allow private cars to drive up the mountain. NO EXCEPTIONS! We restock ice and other goods daily and thus try to make ourselves as available and accommodating to changing needs as possible - we are are on the property 24 hours a day in case of emergency.                                     Important Things to Note -Unfortunately we are not able to provide breakfast this season. If you are interested in a farm fresh breakfast during your stay you will need to request this at the time of booking and the rate is $30 a person. Our breakfast is organic/non gmo and includes a grand spread of granola, eggs made to order with veggies. You must request a time at booking -Verizon wireless is the only network to have service throughout the property. Nearly all other providers have service on the top of the mountain where the majority of our cabins are located but it is still undependable at best.  -Dogs are not allowed to stay in any of our cabins unless they are service animals. -Please be advised that we are not solely an airbnb Host; we are a working farm and while we aim to accommodate you as best as possible, there are sometimes other events going on that may affect your stay. We recommend you check our calendar of events prior to booking.  -There are three outdoor showers, one is located near the stone barn, two are located near the Rustic Kitchen area.  - An outhouse that is cleaned weekly is located near the Rustic kitchen, Mtn. Laurel cabin, Summit cabin and Pagoda cabin and a two room state of the art composting toilets are shared between the Solar cabin and Log cabin - both a one minute walk away - We have a wilderness camp that runs Monday - Friday from 9am - 3pm : Campers and staff respect the privacy of the cabins but you might see some groups of children building forts of stalking animals through the forest  - Please be aware that depending on rain fall the property is at risk of drought in the late summer. This can sometimes cause the pond levels to drop making it less scenic for some. - None of the cabins except the River House Boat and Little House have electricity- fans are provided in these cabins - There is a Stop and Shop grocery store located 2.5 miles from the farm where all groceries can be purchased. - If you arriving via metro north you want to get off at Bridgeport and from there you can either Uber or after booking request our resident Jeff's number who provides rides $80 round trip or $50 one way. -Candles are not allowed in the cabins - We do have wi-fi in the main stone barn but it can be undependable
Though there is lots to do in the surrounding towns of Newtown, Monroe, Easton and Fairfield but most guests prefer to kick back, stay put and enjoy the quiet energy of the farm setting.

An adorable cabin for one person
You will love this one room miniature cabin nestled next to our front pond and the Pootatuck River. It is darling with a 6' long single bed, dresser, lamp, two windows for cross ventilation and a front door that looks out on the pond and waterfall. We provide towels and drinking water in the cabins. PLEASE keep in mind this cabin is very very small and can only accommodate one person whom is LESS than 6 feet tall. The Little House is located between the Stone Barn and River House Boat so while it is easily accessible it is not very private. Please be advised that this cabin has the least amount of privacy. It is located next to our barn that is used for different events throughout the day and night. We cannot guarantee that there will not be something going on during your stay. PLEASE NOTE -The bathroom is not located in the cabin. Both the bathroom and showers are located a one minute walk away in the Stone Barn
Though there is lots to do in the town of Newtown, Monroe, Easton and Fairfield, surrounding Sticks and Stones Farm, most guests prefer to kick back, stay put and enjoy the quiet energy of the farm setting.

Hot tub/fire pit/pool! Hike our woods to deer trail along river! Over 80 eateries within 15 mins! Enjoy winery/craft beer/farm/market visits; easy to moderate hiking; world-class, indoor ropes course; indoor sports/gaming center; trampoline park, much more. Near aquarium, kids' attractions, museums, concerts, nightlife, LIS boat tours. Our fav: Downtown Cabaret Theater.
We are still the ultimate couple's, private getaway, but we're making it easier to bring the little ones for a low-keyed, but fun-filled vacation. When you're not enjoying our outdoor amenities, relax in your very own home theater with 66" HD Smart TV. Full kitchen has an electric range, refrigerator/freezer, microwave, dishwasher, assorted small appliances. It is fully supplied for preparing full-course meals. The bedroom features a very comfy queen bed and two twin air mattresses for the kids as well as a portable crib. Please note that dining table only seats two, but there are two TV tables. The front yard has a playset, tree swing and junior bocce and horseshoes, charcoal grill, dining set, and hammock. Backyard has three-level deck, swimming pool with deck lounge chairs and umbrella table, screen porch with hot tub, gas grill, smoker, picnic table, outdoor living room, fire pit with seating, and a hammock in the woods. We have a private, hidden deck and a top-floor deck so you may never see us!
This is a prime piece of real estate the developer originally reserved for himself and a total surprise at the end of a very normal looking suburban double cul de sac. And yet we consider a drive of over 10 minutes to get anything - groceries, auto service, medical treatment, pet care, pizza, etc. a totally unacceptable inconvenience! We have a herd of deer, a rafter of turkeys including three huge toms in the spring, an abnormally large red fox, a pack of coyotes, a rarely-seen bobcat, and birds of every feather, including woodpeckers, owls, and vultures.

This unique "spaceship" built on an old pontoon boat will be sure to offer seclusion with only the gurgling brook to hear.
This unique "spaceship" built on an old pontoon boat will be sure to offer seclusion with only the gurgling brook to hear. The lodge is screened and glassed in. Think of it as a glorified tent! It can be rather creaky because it is made of recycled materials but the integrity of the structure is sound. The bed is lofted 10 feet off the ground and is accessible only by a ladder. Also please be advised that the bathroom and shower facilities are located a few minute walk away in the stone barn. This cabin has small LED lights and drinking water. The lodge has a stone table and chairs, a private fire pit and a small charcoal grill. PLEASE NOTE -The bathroom is not located in the cabin. The Summit Cabin is our staff favorite and perched on the side of Moss Mountain leaving you with a surreal view.
The Summit Cabin is perched on the side of Moss Mountain and our staff favorite! Be sure to be at the Summit Cabin at Sunset as it is one of the choice spots on the farm to view the day's end. The cabin has a queen bed and two comfy chairs to enjoy the view from. To get to the cabin requires a very short but steep walk so please keep this in mind if you may find this to be a problem. The cabin does not have electric and although it comes with LED string lights we always encourage guests to bring their own additional lighting. The cabin comes with fresh drinking water and glasses. The communal Rustic Kitchen is nearby with a stove, grill, and coolers with ice for cooking. A shared outhouse that is cleaned weekly is also located nearby. PLEASE NOTE -The bathroom is not located in the cabin. Both the bathroom and showers are located a few minute walk away on a wooded path. -There is a large bonfire pit located near the cabin at the Rustic Kitchen. Antique Reproduction Barn on a 300-year-old property... formerly an apple orchard. Cozy, secluded and private. Come and feel replenished in our guestroom. Located 5 mins from the historic Sandy Hook Center, local hiking trails, wineries and more. Best for a single or couple only.
Totally secluded and private on 4 wooded acres approximately 1.25 hours from NYC. We have the perfect special place for a relaxing getaway and are in close proximity to Fairfield/Litchfield County attractions. The Barn is well situated for day trips to state parks, museums in Hartford and New Haven and several wineries on the CT Wine Trail. The guest room is separate from the main house. There is no kitchen, but we do have a Keurig coffee maker, refrigerator & microwave in room--all the amenities you would find in a hotel room.
The property is situated on a quiet cul de sac that is heavily wooded. My property is c. 1706 and used to be a working apple orchard.

Enjoy complete privacy and 500+ square feet of living space in our ground floor suite. There is one king bed, one queen bed, and a comfy sectional couch. There is a small kitchenette for simple cooking and an alfresco BBQ patio for bigger cooking. There is plenty of living space both indoors and out.
This is really a nice, cozy apartment - with ample living space! Pull into a private garage that is attached to your suite. There is a full sized refrigerator in the garage you may use. From the garage you enter a serene sun room flooded with bright, natural light. This room is perfect for reading or to enjoy a glass of wine and a quiet chat. The radiant floors are super cozy on your feet during the winter, and year round you can enjoy the great view of the woods. Take a left through french doors into your living room, and stretch out on the large sectional sofa and enjoy a program on the big screen cable TV. Order take out and sit down at your 4 person dining table. We have installed a new kitchenette in this suite, with Keurig coffee service, small countertop air fryer/oven, microwave, mini-fridge and electric griddle (great to make pancakes or grilled cheese sandwiches). There is no stove in the suite. Big cooking is done outside on a good quality gas BBQ grill with side burner; it is for the exclusive use of our guests, and is directly outside your suite, on an alfresco patio with picnic table. The bedroom has a roomy closet and a king bed. The bed can remain a king or can be separated into twins. There is a queen size Murphy bed (wall bed) in the main living room. It can be pulled down as needed. It has a comfortable 10 inch foam mattress with topper. There are black out curtains for the comfort of those sleeping in the living room. All bed linens are 300 thread count Egyptian cotton. The three piece bathroom has a shower. We have lots of complimentary toiletries to use, if you forget something. Directly outside the sunroom, just steps away, is a large in-ground pool to enjoy from Memorial Day thru Labor Day. The pool is gated for the safety of small children. If you want to take a snooze or read a book and listen to the birds, there is a hammock nestled between two shade trees on the side of the house. There are two swings for the kids. We also have lawn games for the family to enjoy: soccer balls, a croquet set, Frisbee and boccie ball.
Enjoy classic Connecticut country living. We have a gorgeous yard, with three acres of nature, trees and privacy. There are a number of excellent walking and biking trails in Monroe. Good restaurants. The town park has wonderful amenities. However, our back yard is probably all you will need for your stay: hammock, pool, lawn games and guest BBQ. Come and relax!

Trumford guest house is a charming and private cottage with a mid-century flair on a half acre lot in the historic and quiet bedroom community of Nichols in Trumbull, CT. Every detail has been thought out in this small, but well furnished and surprisingly spacious 350 sq. ft cottage. Tom and Robert are your hosts at this unique property. The pool and spa are now open for the season. The current temperature of the pool is 60 degrees.
The house is just far enough away from the main house and is very private. We designed and architected this house ourselves, and it took over a few years to design and build. The overall concept of the design started with the red metal fireplace that is in the center of the space. The house was basically built around it. We were obsessed with having plenty of natural light and we got it! There is natural light even in the shower and WC! Instead of buying new, we chose to use windows that we have collected through the years from demolitions. No need to fill up more landfills! The eyebrow windows are especially unique and are antique. Atop the cupola on the roof is a nod to our dear departed West Highland Terrier: "Jed" who loved this space in the yard. A hand hammered copper weathervane with 24 carat gold collar, engraved "Jed". Even though you can't really see it, It is one of the many design details built into the house. At night, there is every electric light imaginable: overhead, task, mood, etc. The porch is either lighted by carriage lights, or by down lights. The queen size bed is extremely comfortable, with a pillow top mattress and 464 thread count sheets. Both down and poly pillows are provided. A large flatscreen TV with cable lives next to the bed, but swivels for viewing from any part of the studio. Original fine art, vintage art, and vintage objects are used throughout. Adjacent to the living space is a kitchenette with microwave, full size dishwasher, mini fridge and sink (which is part of an antique hotel kitchenette). A large kitchen counter serves as either an eating area, or work space. For coffee or tea, a Keurig machine, and hot pot are available, and we have provided a selection of teas and coffee complimentary. For those who prefer drip coffee or espresso: both machines are available on request. The bathroom is very large, and was designed as an amalgamation of all of the many hotels we have enjoyed through the years. We love honed marble and subway tile and used neutral colors to offset all of the other brighter colors of the interior. There is no shower door- which adds to the illusion of more space- and don't worry, the shower is huge, and with a bench, so you won't be splashing water all over the place. Water cascades from the ceiling from a rainfall shower head, or a conventional hand held shower head with massage functions. The toilet is located in a separate room for additional privacy.
The neighborhood of Nichols is on the historic register and located on the land that was once Nichols farms- one of the earliest farms in the United States. Most of the houses on the main street that lead to our house are from the early to mid 1800's. There is also one from the late 1600's, and many in the neighborhood from the 1700's. We fell in love with the neighborhood when our real estate agent took us down this street. There is a community center, library and churches in our little "square" which is actually a triangle. On Thursdays during the summer there is a small Farmer's Market. This area has not changed much in a couple of hundred years. Our house was built in 1930. So, it's "new". We bought the property for the size of the land as we always wanted a pool and guest house. This area used to be a huge grassy area and is where we got married. If you enjoy early American architecture and the bucolic Connecticut landscape, you will love this neighborhood! We also have a nice little farmers market every Thursday on the Nichols Village green. Food trucks and local produce, clams, etc. It is within walking distance from the house.

This romantic, rustic and cozy lakeside cabin is the perfect place to unwind, relax and explore nature. This cabin has it's own private dock, canoe, fire pit, and miles of woodland trails to explore, only 55 minutes from NYC, 5 minutes from the Merritt Parkway and other major highways, 20 min UBER from Metro North Train Fairfield Station, or Bridgeport.
This is a 600 square foot, winterized cabin with waterfront on a private lake in Ct's hottest town for young families. Come explore historic Trumbull and it's many parks and hundreds of miles of walking trails. There is a great winery within a 15 minute drive and a brewery within 15 minutes in the other direction. Built in the 80's this stone cabin is nestled just above our spring fed hilltop pond at the end of our main mountain road.
This stone solar-powered cabin has a queen bed and a double futon couch that can be pulled out for extra sleeping space. The beds are made and towels are provided. The large deck is perfect for getting a good dose of the outdoors, star gazing and some quality R&R. On the deck is a propane grill, umbrella, table and chairs. This cabin has a stove, basic cooking supplies, tin foil and a rubbermaid tub for washing dishes. Drinking water is provided and there is running water in the nearby composting bathroom for washing dishes. The kitchen is equipped with a french press for coffee (bring pre-ground!), a teapot, mugs, drinking water, utensils, a small pot, skillet, salt/pepper and oil. Unfortunately our solar panels are on the fritz and there is currently no electric in this cabin. We will provide ample battery powered lighting and will keep you updated on the situation should the solar panels be repaired. PLEASE NOTE -The bathroom is not located in the cabin. Both the bathroom and showers are a few minute walk away on a path through the woods and are located separately. -There is a large sunken bonfire pit located about 200 feet from the cabin. Our rustic River Houseboat is on the edge of the Pootatuck River on our lower pond. The Houseboat has a comfy queen bed and a screened porch complete with two antique rocking chairs. We actually bought this property because it is only a 10-minute walk to Twin Brooks Park. The park hosts miles of hiking trails and three ponds where kids under 12 can fish for free, and a new, large playground. Twin Brooks Park connects to beaches Memorial Park for a total of about 350 Acres. We are minutes from I-95 and the Merritt Parkway. A Metro-North train from Bridgeport to New York City is a ten-minute ride away. You'll get to Grand Central Station in about 70 minutes. If you love to eat out, it's only a one mile walk or ride to Trumbull Center. We have a variety of great restaurants. Chinese, sushi, Italian and an upscale bar/restaurant with fabulous desserts.
Trumbull is a small, quiet town. It has many parks with hiking trails paved walking trails and playgrounds for the kids. There are plenty of restaurants and great places to shop. Fairfield county is Central to New York City and the Connecticut casinos. There are many great historic places to visit.

Our Log Cabin is nestled up our mountain in the woods next to our spring fed swimming hole. It is about a 10-15 minute walk up to the cabin.
It has two floors and a deck for lounging and stargazing. The deck has a private propane powered grill, a cooler with ice, and a table with chairs. Behind the cabin is a sitting area with a small private bonfire pit. There is a large sunken bonfire pit about 200 feet away as well. The upstairs has four queen beds, three twin beds a dresser and a few board games. Downstairs there is a propane powered stove, counter space, basic kitchen supplies, salt/pepper, olive oil, rubbermaid bin for washing dishes, table and chairs, a couch, armchair and yoga mats to use. The Log Cabin does not have electricity or running water but we do supply drinking water and LED powered lights. As always we recommend people bring additional lighting. This cabin is perfect for families and large groups of people! PLEASE NOTE -The bathroom is not located in the cabin. Both the bathroom and showers are a few minute walk away on a path through the woods and are located separately. -There is a large sunken bonfire pit located about 200 feet from the cabin.
There is lots to do in the four towns, Newtown, Monroe, Easton and Fairfield surrounding Sticks and Stones Farm, but most guests prefer to kick back, stay put and enjoy the quiet energy of the farm setting. We have 60 acres for you to call home and explore.
