We throughly enjoyed our stay in the Barn Loft. Andrea and Steve are gracious hosts. Prior to our arrival, we received information to prepare for our stay. We received timely communication on the date of our arrival. The property is even better than the pictures display. We truly felt welcome and at home. The furnishings are cozy and the beds are so comfortable. Our family enjoyed meeting the hosts, exploring the property, and the opportunity to rest and to relax in such a beautiful scenic area. We appreciated the fact that our dog could accompany us on this trip. Thank you for sharing your home with us. We look forward to returning.

The views and peace are unmatched. Enjoyed the paved path to walk dinner off too! Very clean, great jacuzzi tub inside and hot tub outside. Very close to SNP. Full kitchen was nice. Deer entertained us every morning . Loved it all.

Fantastic stay overall. The host was very responsive, friendly and accommodating. We made an oversight during our booking in that we didn't notify in advance that we were bringing a pet, but once we explained the issue and discussed it with the host, she was very accommodating and allowed us to pay the pet deposit and stay. She has two small puppers who tagged along with us on several walks around the property (highly recommend walking up Bruce's Mountain for a spectacular view!). Would happily return for another stay in the future.

We really enjoyed our weekend stay in Robin's cabin. Check-in was easy, with Robin greeting us and showing us where to park. Our stay was in April and the heater kept the cabin cozy all night. There were plenty of blankets as well. It was great being unplugged for the weekend and we slept well. The bathroom is a quick walk up to the house. While we didn't get to spend much time at the farm during the day, the stars and spring peepers were treats to experience at night. Overall a great stay!

This was a great location for a day trip in the area. It was terrific for Jim to have a kennel to keep our dog while we did non dog-friendly activities

What an absolutely beautiful place. We loved waking up to a beautiful sunset and peaceful strolls around the property. All the communication and recommendations were wonderful and we wish we could have stayed longer.

We absolutely LOVED the cabin and didn't want to leave. It was beautiful, a great mix of rustic and modern. We appreciated the fully stocked kitchen and shampoo/conditioner/body wash in the bathrooms. We enjoyed having the hot tub and the fire pit. The beds were comfy. It was a peaceful and a fantastic trip. We plan to stay again in the future.

Narmada was a quiet, quaint place to stay. The best part were the amazing wine selections at the Narmada Winery right across the driveway and the amazing Indian food!

We stayed here for our annual New Year’s Eve gathering with friends and it was great! We especially appreciated that every bedroom has a large bed. The basement is fun and comfortable, and was perfect for hanging out after our baby went to sleep upstairs. The property is surrounded by beautiful woods and was private and picturesque. Robert was such a considerate and responsive host.

Joys retreat was amazing! It was peaceful and relaxing and we were able to bring in my buddies 31st birthday. THE PROPERTY WAS SO RELAXING! Loved the vibe and energy Joy created!

Our crew of seven (+ 2 dogs) loved our time here! This was an experiment of sorts to go somewhere slightly remote with no major travel plans to spend quality time together and see how we could entertain ourselves. For our family and kids' ages (10-15), 3 days would have been perfect, but 4 was probably a little much. We were about fifteen minutes from the nearest retail area, but it included everything we could have ever needed. The little park at the front of the neighborhood was expansive and clean; we walked through the mining camp museum then played family wiffle ball + soccer on the football field before the kids did sand volleyball (my husband and I opted out of the sand lol). We loved we could bring our dogs without having to worry about any cat dander (several of us are allergic). The stairs were too steep for the dogs, so they were naturally contained to the middle floor. Only heads-up is that there were carpenter bees - not harmful, but definitely freaked the kids out.

The home was wonderful. It was as clean as can be expected for a farmhouse. The location is quiet and a somewhat reasonable drive from humanity. Laura was nothing short of spectacular in making our stay a delightful as possible. When there was a plumbing issue, it was addressed immediately, on CHRISTMAS EVE! We really appreciated how our divided living spaces were connected between the main house and the “guest house.” We would definitely recommend this location, but be mindful of the drive time. Many thanks to Laura for making sure we had a great place to stay!

Our family had a wonderful long weekend at “the farm” as our children now refer to it as. The perfect place for R&R!

The most peaceful place I have ever stayed at

Very relaxing. There were just 2 of us but I can see a family being very comfortable there. Loved all the friendly farm animals. Enjoyed being in a secluded place yet close to restaurants and civil war attractions. Would definitely stay again.

Lovely home and our hosts thought of everything we could possibly need. Carla was so nice and always available to answer questions. We loved the history of this sweet farm and the personal touches used to decorate the house. It felt like home. We were quite cozy and comfortable and our grandbabies never wanted to leave!

3 Nights was not enough for our 7 member family. We cooked, grilled, soaked in the hot and best of all had a delightful tour of Barbara's and Mike's Sheep Farm, all fit in around wedding events in Rixeyville. If life wouldn't have been in the way, 2 more days enjoying the massive deck and game room downstairs would have been perfection.

A charming hostess and a cozy cottage at the gateway to the Shenandoah! Plenty of space, lots of light, great linens, and the most comfortable couch I’ve ever sat on in my life. Bring binoculars or a telescope if you can - the stars were magnificent every night and there were deer and blue jays and woodpeckers as well. It was hard to leave! We look forward to visiting again.

My family and I had a great stay at Monique and Stan’s place. They were so friendly and helpful and the house had everything we needed. The beds were super comfortable and plenty of space to spread out. The location was beautiful and my kids loved meeting their horses. We would love to go back when the pool is open. Thanks again!

This property was wonderfully private and peaceful. I was looking for a place to stay with my dog and they have a large fenced area for him to roam. The views were gorgeous and the beds were cozy. Checkin was simple and easy.

This is an amazing rental! The surroundings were beautiful and the home had all of the conveniences we needed. It was a 20 minute drive to the Old Rag trail head - the only time we left during our stay because the property was so peaceful and inviting. We especially loved the front porch overlooking the pond, spacious bedrooms, the screened-in porch for dinner, the pond with the boats, and the hiking trails on the property. The hosts were responsive and the house was very clean. It was a memorable mini vacation we will never forget. We would highly recommend! * Make sure you have a paper map if you drive anywhere because cell service is non-existent in the area - WiFi was excellent at the house.

Wonderful, peaceful stay! Great surroundings in a charming little cottage. The pictures don’t do it justice. Really well-stocked kitchen (spices, tea, coffee, etc). Enjoyed a lovely rain while relaxing in the bed and watching through the skylight. Boo was very friendly and takes a lot of pride in making this space as welcoming as possible.
