Thank you for such a great stay. We stayed for a wedding on a 40+ degree weekend and it was so relaxing and comfortable to come back to.

A fantastic place for a large group or family like ours! We absolutely loved being there, and the listing is so right.. despite having a large number of people present, there are so many places to socialise, to relax or enjoy a few games, we never felt short on space. The museum on the site gives a great insight into the history of the building and it was all very interesting to learn about. The beautiful grassed area out along the river is also lovely and peaceful. Thank you for sharing your beautiful property with us.

We had an amazing stay! The place was spotless, and had everything I needed. The host was incredibly welcoming and responsive, even allowing an early check-in and late check-out, which made my trip so much easier. I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area!

We loved our stay at The Boathouse. It has a lovely peaceful view - the best in Clayton Bay - and is very thoughtfully stocked with everything needed for a relaxing, worry-free stay. The deck is a great spot to sit and read, sunbathe or watch the sunset. Just the right size for our family of four, and the layout makes the most of the view. Thank you for a wonderful break!

This is the 3rd time we have stayed and as always, the house was spotless and the bedding was clean and soft its like a home away from home. There is everything there that we may need in the house. I forgot my towels but Luckly they supplied clean crisp towels, the shops are around the corner and there are restaurants close by but not to close. I highly recommend a stay here im about to book next years stay. well done Chris and Betina.

Fantastic holiday home with many thoughtful touches. The house is exactly as pictured, super clean and very welcoming. We loved the coffee station and sincerely thank you for welcoming pets into your home - we love traveling with our dog. Clayton Bay is a pretty little town and lovely to visit especially in summer.

Lovely character cottage set in beautiful grounds. Our dog was settled here. Heather meeting us and showing us around on arrival, plus the provisions left, were nice touches. It was good to be able to walk our dog (on the lead) in the gardens. Enjoyed being close to the town centre and historic High Street. Graham’s local knowledge was very useful.

We have stayed at several Airbnb’s in SA and both agree Rainshadow Retreat has been our favourite yet. What stood out for us was the views, privacy, attention to detail and all the amenities you need. We stayed one night with our small dog who loved exploring the surroundings. The highlight for me was the outdoor bath. It was a very still night, not a breath of wind, so quiet and I could gaze at the stars. A very relaxing and comfortable stay. Highly recommend!

beautiful vacation house with a breathtaking backyard view. You could easily have meals at backyard while day-dreaming overlooking the pelicans at the deck or inside the house. the kitchen is also very complete, including 2 coffee makers, breville coffee machine and pods, soda stream, nutriibullet, cooking equipments, baking equipments etc etc. not to mention all the herbs, sauces and condiments, almost all are all provided. my nephew was very fond with playing pingpong and basket ball, he spent most of the time playing those two games. my husband n bro in law enjoyed bbq and cooking while we were there. cooking at the long pantry with a view was dreamy! Sam & Trent also provided us a welcome basket and a tiny basket of dog treats, dog bags, and wipes for our yorkshire too. well thought out, amazing service throughout. we appreciate they checking up on us on the second day, asking if we need anything else, they were just a message away. all the best. frederika

From the moment you book a stay at Cristal, you know you have made a great choice. The communication from Ron is friendly & informative. Check in details are clear and easy to follow Once you then arrive at Cristal, your mind will be blown! It is stunning. Everything has been considered and thought of. Seriously everything! All you have to do, is walk in and relax! Fully stocked kitchen, wine glasses a plenty, coffee machine & pods, bbq, kayaks, life jackets, beach towels, shampoo, etc. Everything is at your finger tips. The only issue we had was deciding where to sit! There are so many perfect spots to enjoy both Cristal & the stunning surroundings! The perfect place to relax! My only regret is that I didn’t stay for longer! 🥰

Such a beautiful and relaxing stay, property had everything we needed and more. Lots to keep us entertained. Loved the sun shining on the hammock every morning and the friendly birds that visited.

We had a lovely stay! The place was very clean, well presented, and thoughtfully stocked with everything we needed. A big bonus was how baby-proof it was—it worked perfectly for our 14-month-old and meant we could actually relax. The location is also super convenient, just a short walk to the main street. Would definitely recommend!

Spacious accommodation, enjoyed our stay, really appreciated the basic fridge items supplied to get us started on arrival.

What a lovely spot to enjoy a getaway with a significant other. Beautiful views and bird life. Dangle a fishing line or go kyiaking with the supplied equipment. Good kitchen and outdoor cooking amenities. There is no real need to leave the place during your stay. Windy days can be an issue cooking outside but the BBQ can be moved around to find cover. I would highly advise visiting outside of long weekends and school holidays to avoid the speedboat ruckus. That part can get a bit annoying, especially the boat drivers that love to plow the water and leave a huge wake behind them.

We enjoyed our two days at this wonderful place and house very much. Of course you need to know that there primarily „landscape“ all around and that the next town is 15 km away - but we enjoyed it and would recommend this place to anybody searching for a calm and peaceful place to relax.
