This place was an amazing getaway for my girlfriend and I. The setting was awesome and really made us feel like we took a step back in time to a more simple way of living. The house was great and the decor inside and out was what made this place so intriguing. We stayed for 4 days and didn’t want to leave, this truly is a special place and a great atmosphere to unwind in. The owner was great and I would recommend staying here to anyone that appreciates history and the simple life of years past.

My friend and I stayed here for a spiritual getaway and it was the perfect place for it! We loved the view of Shasta and enjoyed the energy here. Happily recommend this place!

We had such a fun and unique experience. Perfect for our family! Lots to explore both inside, with the eclectic art, and outside across the sprawling and isolated grounds.

We had a great stay in the Hobbit Hut. :) The earthen home is cozy and stays very cool during the day and comfortable at night-- I would compare it to glamping. There is a nice private area outside with chairs and picnic tables that is shared with the Gingerbread Hut. There is a bathroom a short walk away and shower facilities in the main lodge. We enjoyed the peacefulness of the retreat center grounds and visiting the temple and exotic birds. A very unique place, ideal for rest and reflection.

We had an absolutely wonderful weekend staying at Karin's incredible Danish-style abode. She was so welcoming and warm upon arrival, and was incredibly accomodating to our adjusted arrival time of 10pm! Anything we could possibly need, Karin had on hand and was always there for us. Waking up to fresh coffee and organic yogurt bowls made us feel like we were staying at a 5 star resort. And echoing everyone else - Karin's omlettes are second to none!! The property itself is also so stunnning, and it truly feels like you're miles away from busy San Francisco. Karin also gave us a fantastic tour of the area on her ATV, including her baby chickens and beautiful free-roaming horses! Whether you're looking for a quick getaway like us, or are interested in staying for a full week's time, I can't recommend Karin's one of a kind home enough. We're looking forward to our next stay!

The land in the sky is a gem! We had everything we needed and space to spare. I would 11/10 come back to stay. Know that you will be on a dirt road to get here, just like Nathan describes. And that the park is about a 25 min drive just to get to the gates. It was so, so worth it though. We captured every sunrise and sunset just by staying here. Not to mention EPIC skies at night that are truly undisturbed by any surrounding light. We did leave early for one morning hike and it all worked out perfectly. The record player skips but it still played some of the albums and really brought the place to life!

Catalina and Javier were very friendly and kind to let me stay with them.

The house was perfect for our group trip to Palm Springs. The beautiful backyard was perfect for lounging by the pool and enjoying the weather, and the rooms were set up well. The kitchen had everything we needed, and the location is convenient and close to downtown. As noted by others the house is in the flight path to the airport. The more sensitive sleepers in our group noticed the noise from airplanes taking off and landing early in the morning, while others weren't bothered by it at all. However overall it was a great stay in a great house and great location!

Fantastic place to stay with a large group, and a great location! Cheap lyfts to the gas lamp and airport. Right by Balboa Park and walkable to several wonderful restaurants. The apartments were very clean and had all amenities we'd need. The hosts were very organized. Highly recommended!

I brought my family of 9 to Palm Springs for a weekend by the pool. We had the best time. The pool is not huge and we didn't have to worry about the kids (8&10). The house was spotless and we found everything we needed. We all loved the house and we will be back. Thank you host!

My kids loved the pool table and ping pong. Beds were very comfortable and rooms were large. We very much enjoyed our stay!!

We chose to explore the Shenandoah valley before checking in, thinking we’d explore more of the area the next day. Once we arrived at Terra’s, we quickly figured our plans would change and chose to disconnect and stay in. Totally worth it. Sunny, warm weather allowed for a walk to the river, chatting to the pigs and following the sun or shade as the day unfolded whilst lazing and reading a good old paper book. Waking up to bird song was a treat. Thanks for sharing the farm history with us Terra.

This place is a gem. It's about 20 minutes off 101 on mostly well-graded gravel roads, in a beautiful, remote area. Nathan greeted me as I drove up and was super helpful. The yurt was down a well-maintained trail (lots of stairs), in it's own little private area near a stream. The yurt was spotless and extremely well provisioned. Thoughtful touches everywhere - including fluffy comforters, coffee beans and a grinder, and a small refrigerator. If you can handle the lack of indoor plumbing, and, like me, you enjoy being off the grid now and then, you'll be fine. The outdoor shower was large, clean, and awesome, I felt like a nymph bathing in the woods. And that's only the beginning - the property is really spectacular, especially the tree house. Bring a book and stay for the afternoon. Lots of deer and rabbits around; you can awaken to birdsong. After a couple of nights, I felt refreshed, rested, clear headed. I hope to be back.

peaceful and secluded, we all felt so at home and comfortable. we walked around to the pond, swung on the swings, cooked in the huge kitchen, bathed in the amazing bathtub. it was truly an amazing experience, and Lisa, the host, was responsive and friendly, she accommodated us multiple times along with always checking in and making sure we got to the airbnb safely, as well as checking out. overall, an amazing experience and super close to everything there is to do in the small town.

In short, the Hobbit house was amazing. I do like to make note that there were various places with spider webs that were visually unpleasant, inbetween the door slider to the balcony, on the way to the little sauna-like room accessible in the bathroom of the main bedroom, or the fireplace that is clearly never used. These are nitpicks that dings a bit but nothing to undermine how great this place is. There are many special places I've stayed and this is one of the few that I would actually mean it when i say I'll be back.

I recently stayed at Starlight Adobe, and it was absolutely wonderful! The views were breathtaking, and the décor was both stylish and cozy. The location was perfect for a relaxing getaway. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to unwind and enjoy some peace and quiet. Can’t wait to return!

The place was really beautiful and peaceful. Though it becomes a little scary at night with narrow roads and complete dark but the instructions provided by the host were very detailed and clear and the place is worth it. It was clean and had all the amenities. We could also spot deers right outside the windows. Would definitely recommend.

This is our third stay, and always a special one!! The land will envelope you with peace and beauty, and Lael’s hospitality is full of friendliness and warmth. The creativity put into this incredible Tolkien Hobbit world that he and his wife designed is an absolutely stunning experience. It’s done so well that you have all the conveniences of the modern world along with all the magic and lore of another world all together. Not to be missed! We ordered the “shire-cuterie” board again, which is an incredible spread of deliciousness. Their complimentary home made breakfasts are something we always look forward to as well, absolutely five star. And their welcoming of our doggies is much appreciated. My whole family gathered for Thanksgiving here. The house was even more beautiful than the pictures! It was like an oasis and we found everything one needed to feel right at home. We highly recommend this stay.

This was such an amazing and peaceful stay. My only concern was the WiFi issue and having to work with a slower network, however, Jenn responded and gave me instructions to reset the router. Although that still didn’t speed up the WiFi, I just connected to my phone and don’t think that warrants taking a star away because everything else about the house was everything we needed and more. Plus, who wants to work while being away? I appreciate Jenn’s responsiveness and would just recommend a full WiFi reset for future guests. I’ll definitely visit again, the thoughtfulness put into the West and East parts of the house were perfect and we felt safe. Thank you again, Jenn!

If you’re looking for 5 star this isn’t it. However, if you want a great memorable unique cozy couples get away. It’s perfect for that. 😊
