This trip was for husband & 2 fishing buddies. Location was good, dead end street with easy access to a nearby launch. The house is nice, modern and has necessary amenities. Kevin even allowed use of garage space which helped a lot to keep the pollen off my boat overnight! A blower was also provided which helped since pollen is high in the area right now. Nice paved driveway, although we had a challenge getting 3 boat trailers to fit. It will only accommodate 2. A nearby neighbor passing by tried to be helpful with our parking dilemma when they noticed us struggling to fit all, although a man across the street came over and was confrontational & opinionated about the circumstance. Not sure why he felt the need to involve himself but it all worked out & we would stay in this place again.

Nice lake house. Comfortable spaces. The living room was spacious but only 1 table lamp to light the space after dark. This house is not one to pick for anyone with mobility issues as all bedrooms are downstairs and kitchen/living room upstairs. We enjoyed our stay.

this was our second time staying here & it’s the most beautiful & relaxing home! we felt right at home immediately & it’s always clean & welcoming! can’t recommend this beautiful lake house enough!!!

We had a wonderful stay at Mark’s place! He was a phenomenal host—extremely responsive and went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect for our visit. The house was just what we needed for a relaxing and peaceful getaway with my family. It was well-equipped, comfortable, and in a beautiful location. We especially loved being able to bring our boat and spend some time out on the lake—it truly made the trip special. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again!

We had an amazing stay and thoroughly enjoyed the front yard for all day sledding! The house was spacious - perfect for our four families! Most importantly, the hosts were super friendly and responsive to any questions we had! We will definitely be back to enjoy the river in the summer!!

We had a truly wonderful stay at Skipping Stones Getaway with our family of five. From the moment we arrived, it felt like a peaceful retreat—surrounded by beautiful views and the kind of quiet that instantly helps you unwind. Christie and Donaven have thought of everything. The house was fully stocked with all the essentials (and then some). From extra phone charging cables to those little items you might forget to pack, it was clear they’ve put a lot of care and attention into making guests feel at home. We spent our days out on the lake kayaking, soaking up the calm and beauty of the surroundings, and our evenings enjoying quality time together around the fire. It was the perfect mix of fun and relaxation. Skipping Stones Getaway is the kind of place you want to return to. Highly recommend for anyone looking to slow down, recharge, and make lasting memories in a truly lovely setting.

Million dollar views! We enjoyed our stay beautiful views of the sunset right on the lake. This place was so peaceful. Beds were very comfortable and kitchen was stocked with everything you need. Scott communicated and checked on us during our stay. Will definitely stay again!

Paul was so quick to respond to any questions I had. He was also very friendly and helpful. Heavens Gate, WOW, the name says it all. The cabin is so beautiful and very well decorated. When you first walk in, you're on the second floor. There's large sliding doors that lead outside to the deck that has the most amazing views of the lake. It is truly breathtaking! They have a very well equipped kitchen. It has a regular pot & a K-cup maker which came in handy. There are games, tv, great wifi and an awesome hot tub! The hot tub was hot and clean. We quickly unpacked, made a mimosa and jumped right in. That view, also amazing! The Wifi worked outside to play tunes while we soaked in the tub & amazing views. The road was scary for this FL girl, but you do get use to it. Also deer walked around the house and we saw an eagle. The beds were super cozy and there were plenty of dressers to unpack. The master shower was so nice. I can go on and on... just book it, you will not regret it!

This place is absolutely beautiful, peaceful and just what our family needed. So grateful that we were able to bring our sweet dog too. Our son is way into fishing-the dock was exactly what we were looking for. LeeAnn is an incredible host, answered any and all questions and the place was exactly as she described. We already know that we will be back and can’t wait to plan our next visit.

Jack is a great host. My wife and I enjoyed meeting him. He does not live in the BnB but is close by if you need him. He met us at the house and showed us around. The house is beautiful and right on the water. The boat ramp is 3 mins from the house. We will definitely be back!!

My family and I loved this home so much that we can’t wait to go back. The home is beautiful inside and out. Fully equipped kitchen, comfy beds, amazing deck and dock. The view from this home is absolutely gorgeous. We loved watching people enjoying the lake on their boats and jet skis. My daughters loved the paddle boat. The home is fully supplied with life vests also. We really appreciated that. This home outshined any home I ever booked. 10 out of 10! Can’t get over the views and multiple decks. We will be back :).

We had 7 family members and two dogs stay at the house and it was perfect. The river beautiful and the beach makes it easy to slip the boats in and out. The host was very responsive and helpful.

Very nice and peaceful lake cabin. Roomy and will accommodate up to 8-10 comfortably. Access to lake a dock is a big plus.

The house is such a gem!! It was perfect for our family of 9 for Thanksgiving. We could have never left the house our entire trip because the main level is so cozy and comfortable. There is plenty of games and puzzles to keep everyone entertained. My son loved the little nook area with the bean bag. There is plenty of space to spread out with the 3 different living room areas. If you want a good workout - go for a walk! The house is at a higher elevation in the neighborhood, so you will have to walk down and back up. We hiked to Laurel Falls - that was another workout! Be prepared to drive a little ways to the grocery store. We brought most of our groceries but needed a few things and the next town is 25-30 minutes away. (Of course, there is always Dollar General that is closer!) Not many places to eat out. The first night we went to the Trading Post and the food was good and the people were so friendly, we stopped back in on our way out to say goodbye!

We have rented homes on Watauga 15+ times and this so far has been our favorite. It’s very obvious how well the home and outside is cared for. The patio, furniture, and dock are all so clean. I have found that a lot of places lack that part. It was so nice to be able to paddleboard and kayak without paying extra. The bed was very comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed. I highly recommend this house and plan to return for future visits if it’s available!

This place is just wonderful! The cabin looks even better in person than in the pictures. And smelled amazing haha. The area around the cabin is still somewhat recovering from the Helene floods, but they’ve done a ton of work to get it back to its original state. The springtime will bring back a lot of growth I’m sure The kitchen was well stocked for cooking, which we appreciated. There were amazingly soft robes and blankets to relax in. Easy access to Linville Gorge and its trail system, if you’re looking for hiking in the area We spent probably too much time in the hot tub listening to the water. So relaxing. We will be back again for sure!

Perfect place for a relaxing weekend getaway right on the water. The hosts were very responsive and equipped the house with everything you could need. They provided a fire pit, grill, kayaks, and canoes which were perfect activities given the weather. There are houses nearby but it still felt like we had our privacy. We would definitely rent this house again and come back to Lake Norman!

We had a fabulous time on the lake. We will definitely have to stay longer next time.

Great cabin close to town and Grandfather Mountain. Highly recommend!
