My family and I stayed at Gilbert’s cabin for the Christmas Holidays and really enjoyed it. The cabin sits on a large piece of land, so even though there are neighbors it feels very private. It was very quiet and the fire pit outside was the perfect place to stargaze. The cabin is only 10-15 minutes to downtown Blue Ridge and there are also plenty of hikes nearby as well. We would love to come back in the summertime and enjoy the lake!

The space itself was immaculate, festive decorations, cozy, and thoughtfully equipped with all the amenities I could ask for, from a well-stocked kitchen to plush bedding. The location was perfect, offering a peaceful retreat yet close enough to local attractions. Ruth went above and beyond to make sure I had a seamless experience, providing helpful local recommendations and even a personalized welcome booklet. I felt like I was staying in a home away from home. I left feeling completely refreshed and grateful for such a wonderful experience. From the moment we put in our reservation Bobby and Dina made us feel so very welcomed. We truly enjoyed our stay at their beautiful home on the river. The peace and tranquility of the home made it a much needed getaway. I would highly recommend this home to anyone staying in the area. Bobby and Dina were super responsive to any requests we had and made some super recommendations of things in the surrounding are. We rode up on motorcycles and the drive in and driveway were very accessible for us to navigate and park. we will definitely be making this our usual place to stay when we're in the area.

Great place to stay right on the river! Very peaceful and quiet. Location is perfect- downtown Blue Ridge is just a short drive. The kids loved seeing the train go by, and the train doesn’t run during early morning or late night hours! Overall, fantastic place to stay in a great location!

This is a lovely place. It is very peaceful. It was fun watching kayaks, boats and people fishing. The bed was super comfortable. we had a. ice time grilling with the Trager grill on the deck looking out over the water. I'd definitely stay here again.

I can't say enough about Lisa's home! It had everything listed and more. The thoughtfulness in the little details made this the best experience we have had with an Airbnb. This home is beautiful and the amenities at the lake were perfect. Our family had a wonderful week and hope to do it again in the future.

My brother and I treated our mom to a weekend getaway to celebrate her 80th birthday. The “Flying Squirrel” was perfect! Great floor plan, beautiful interior design, comfortable beds, and plenty of thoughtful extras! If you’re looking for a true “get-away-from-it-all”….this is it!

The most perfect place for a relaxed and quiet getaway! My husband and I drove up here from Florida for our honeymoon. It was absolutely beautiful and so comfortable that we felt right at home. We hardly left the cabin, there was plenty to do right there. Canoeing on the lake with our dog was the highlight of the trip. 10/10 would stay again.

We had a wonderful stay, and would rate this as one of the most peaceful, places we have stayed. The home was very clean, modern and had everything we needed and more. The hosts were so amazing and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and at home- which we absolutely did! I have already recommended this stay to several of my friends and look forward to coming back.

Our family trip with 4 couples & kids was a great success! From grilling steaks, enjoying the hot tub, and roasting marshmallows over the fire by the river. The beds were very comfortable & the kitchen was well appointed including a full spice rack. The bathrooms were as amazing as the pictures show! We are considering a return trip in the summer & highly recommend this property!

Great location. Goal of the trip was to expose our younger kids to the outdoors. Hiking, mtn biking and kayaking could all be done in the neighborhood. Will definitely be back.

Having traveled from Europe, we've experienced our fair share of destinations and hosts—some wonderful, and others not so much. But I can honestly say this has been the best hosting experience we've ever had. My three-year-old even called it his “Christmas home,” and we truly felt like we were at home here. The cabin was beautiful, spotless, and had everything we could possibly need. Ms. Jill, our host, was incredibly kind and accommodating, always checking in to make sure we had everything we needed. Thank you so much for making our New Year’s celebration one we’ll never forget!

River Zen was a very nice spot for us to spend time away for our anniversary. The river was peaceful and the cabin was clean. The kitchen was stocked well for me to cook a few meals. The bed was comfy and I liked reading the books that were in the sitting room. We watched the baby ducks while we ate breakfast. I will say that Googles GPS was incorrect after we crossed the bridge coming in but all in all we had a great time!

Beautiful piece of property overlooking creek. Great cabin with anything you could need. Host readily available. Looking forward to coming back!
