Everything went smoothly and the flat was clean, spacious, and quiet. The amenities, like washer and dryer, were wonderful. While the location was slightly off the common "tourist path," we actually appreciated that and it was an easy bus ride or Uber back to the flat each night. We also enjoyed the local pub and the food choices nearby. My only issue was the lack of communication about the 3 flights of stairs/no lift. This fact is mentioned in other reviews (as I see now), but not in the description of the property nor in the initial instructions for accessing the flat. The stairs themselves are not Ben's fault and as I learned on my 14-day journey through Ireland and the UK, accessibility is not a priority in these old cities. That's fine. But the lesson for me I guess is to read reviews a little more closely, as that's the only place the stairs are mentioned. I have bad knees so trekking up the stairs each night after a long day was, quite simply, torture. But still a great stay.

We had a lovely stay in Scott’s very attractive, comfortable flat. It’s got a really nice outdoor patio area and the walk along the harbour is fun to do. Lots of nice restaurants nearby and the parking is very straightforward. Scott himself was very friendly and helpful. All in all quite a find!

We were a family of 5 and spent 3 nights in Rachel’s apartment. Apartment was spacious, clean and had everything we needed. Location is excellent. A couple mins to tram and easy walk to all the sights. Near lots of places to eat too and a Tesco express just around the corner. There were boxes of toys in the app which were great for entertaining our 5 year old. Rachel had everything labelled so you know where everything is and how everything works. Would stay here again and would definitely recommend.

The apartment is very attractive and was spotlessly clean. The overview of the harbour from the balcony provides lots of interest with the comings and goings of the local fishing boats. Central location is convenient for Arbroath amenities, and other Angus destinations are in easy reach. Very much recommended and hope to get back up soon.

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our time here. Andy was a great host – very friendly and always quick to reply to our messages. We especially appreciated the convenient location, being only a 6-minute drive from the train station. The free parking there was a real bonus, and the 25-minute train journey to Edinburgh city center made exploring the city very easy. It's a perfect base for visiting Edinburgh!

We found the house to comfortable and clean, the beds were great with good quality mattresses and linen. The lounge was very comfortable and a good size. It was good to have the drive way as the streets around had a lot of cars fighting for space. The house is in an estate that has some really run down properties/areas but the house itself is next to some nice friendly neighbours (Annie with the two Chihuahuas!) We found it to be quiet at night. The cons: quite far away from town, you could walk but it's about 30 mins. There are some niggly issues with squeaky hinges, dodgy door handles and a window that wouldn't shut properly in the bathroom, but these were irritations rather than deal breakers. The hosts were very responsive and friendly. Would definitely stay again and would recommend.

Magical, relaxing, calming, surrounded by beauty and nature. We cannot recommend Miep and Derrywood highly enough. Our only regret is we didn’t stay for longer, but hope to be back asap. 5/5 isn’t enough, as this home and host (Miep) well exceeded all our expectations. This is a good base for exploring the Trossachs. The house is comfortable, with a well equipped kitchen and spacious accommodation (we were there as three couples). Although it’s on the main road through town, it was very quiet at night. Aaron is a friendly and helpful host and we had a great time here.

I stayed at this wonderful property for a few days right after getting married, kicking off my honeymoon while also showing my new in-laws some of the best parts of the UK. The entire family had a great time here—it’s clean, very spacious, and truly felt like home. We did run into a minor issue with a bathroom leak (a bit of bad luck on my part, I suppose), but the host was incredibly responsive and did everything they could to resolve it quickly. I really appreciate how it was handled and am grateful for the prompt attention. Overall, I highly recommend this lovely property. If I’m ever in Edinburgh again with family or friends, I’d definitely check if this place is available before considering other options in the Old Town area. Very comfortable stay in Lorna and Richard's house. Cannot recommend highly enough, hosts were so friendly and welcoming. Everything was provided that we needed, every detail had been carefully thought out. The house was perfect for visiting our daughter at university. Would love to stay again sometime. This is let is worth a visit if you are a family or in a group. It's a peaceful location with off-road parking. We all had a room to ourselves and there are nice places to relax in the house. We were able to walk 5 minutes to the tram stop and be in Edinburgh centre in 20 minutes or so. You can make the best of Edinburgh when staying. Usman is very hospitable and will meet and show you round himself. He communicated well for us and was flexible with when we could check in. This proved very helpful on the day! I would recommend staying here, it's a nice place.

Nous avons passés deux jours chez Jamie et nous sommes très satisfaits. Ma fille de 6 ans était très contente de trouver des jouets dans la chambre d’enfants. Il y a un bus à proximité de la maison pour visiter Edimbourg. La maison est super et il y a tout ce qu’il faut. Très propre et sympa ! Merci Jamie

The apartment was easy to find, it is not in the city centre but there are bus stops nearby. We needed to take a bus very early in the morning to the airport and it was easy. The apartment is comfortable and large enough for four people. It is well furnished to have meals in the house. We enjoyed the welcome pack in the fridge. The conservatory and the rear garden are lovely. Enjoy your stay there!

The apartment was as advertised. The pictures were accurate great location. Only concern we had was construction started as we got there. It was unfortunate but beyond Samantha’s control

What a gem of a place. Perfect location for our spa day at Gleneagles. Beautifully appointed, the beds were so comfortable and we got the best sleep. Everything you could need for a stay away.

Fantastic dwelling, great location and excellent hosts. We will definitely look to return to Edinburgh in the future and seek this residence as well as highly recommending it to our friends and family. Our hosts Mark and Dayna were wonderful especially with their wonderful gesture of allowing us to stay an extra night, free of charge, due to The Hogmanay Festival being cancelled. Thank you again. Nevertheless a wonderful visit to Edinburgh underpinned by an excellent apartment and generous hosts.

Another perfect stay at Harbour Haven. The large dining kitchen gives us somewhere to sit in the morning if the sofa bed in the living room is still occupied. The master bedroom is incredibly spacious with a generous four-poster. The flat has recently been renovated, though it was already in great condition. As always, the standout is the location. It’s perfectly situated between the high street and the promenade and the living room boasts the most glorious view of the harbour and the sea beyond. This is our third stay at Harbour Haven and we couldn’t recommend it strongly enough. The hosts are always so responsive, approachable and friendly.

A lovely, clean apartment with all the amenities and the little extras. Gintare was a very friendly, responsive host. I would definetly stay here again and would recommend it as a place to stay in Edinburgh.

So this is one of the few times that a place exceeded our expectations! The Airbnb listing isn't the most accurate - it states it's a studio apartment, free street parking, and the pictures are somewhat outdated. Luckily, the description told me there were 3 bedrooms. There's actually garage or resident parking, which was a big deal for us, and also the inside was fantastic! Very clean and comfortable, very spacious, lots of windows. The location was super quiet and peaceful, yet right in the city and very walkable! Can't recommend this listing enough!
